Wade looked pedestrian anytime Green was guarding. Green even got in his head a bit as Wade started missing point blank shots.

You could see Wade's penis get hard whenever Marco checked in, tbh:lol..

Green is majorly underrated even by a lot of Spurs fans imo.

He isn't Bowen but he's still damn good

If that's your opinion fine but guarding Wade shouldn't be a deciding factor.

Unfortunately it seems that way. And Beasley also got his shares when defended by Marco.

Was Marco any different that Neal in this series? Atleast Neal had that one huge shooting game in last years finals.

Damn near IMHO. Bowen was head and shoulders the best 1 vs 1 defender of his time but alot of what he used to do would be whistled in today's game. Add in the fact that Green's transition defense is second to none in the league except Lebron James (and transition defense is also much important in today's game) and the gap closes even furthur.

Neal's defense was absolutely horrendous. Dude routinely lost his man, didn't close out on shooters and frequently spectated in rebounding and loose ball situations. Plus he frequently took ill advised 3's. Neal had to score 15 off the bench just to break even. Give me Marco any day of the week.

He did too, but wade also helped him a bit

kawhi green just brought the spurs perimeter d to elite level, they both have such high bb iq on the defensive end

And people are shitting over him for not making shots. Just shutting down wade means you only have to worry for Lebron.

And then after Splitter's rejection it shriveled and went permanently flaccid. By this time next season he'll be the nba's first official Eunuch.

Yep and to be fair to Marco, at least Wade and Beasley had their shoes on

Not to take anything away from Danny Green, but I think this had much less to do with Green's defense and much more to do with the fact that Wade's knees and lack of heart have devolved him into a barely-above-replacement-level player.

His defense is damn good. He definitely has more potential upside than Bowen. Isn't he not much better defensively than Bowen at the same age?

I respect Wade for coming out before the game and saying he was 100% healthy and had just played bad up to that point in the series. I believe him, especially because he admitted that last year he was NOT healthy and was playing on one leg during the Finals. But SHAME on the media for claiming otherwise this year, especially Stephen A. Smith, who chalked the Spurs victory to Dwayne Wade's poor health.

Lol shutting down TOSB Wade is nothing special. Green would get destroyed by Lebron though.

Wade started to have some success on Green as the series went on, but Danny's two steals last night were among the best I saw this past season.

As far as the budding Bowen debate goes, I think we can all agree that Lock n Lock are the best starting wing combo the Spurs have had in the Duncan era. It's hardly close anymore.

If Beasley had half a brain and got off the bong, he'd be a hell of a talent. Never will amount to anything though.

I'll admit I got a throbbin rager when Verde put the ball on the floor and drove past James for the layup in Game 3.

How Danny and Kawhi were left off the NBA all defensive team is beyond me. When you have LeBron and DWade sharting their pants you've got something special goin on.

I doubt that, Game 1, Wade was unstoppable. Popovich and Green made their adjustment and made him get out of his comfort zone. Green also got up to his chest a lot.

Green won't get any attention from the media, but he defended Wade as well as anyone could hope. Hopefully Green and Leonard keep developing defensively and become lock down wing defenders. I loved watching Wade get a screen only to have Leonard switch on him. Wade didn't even have a chance of seeing daylight.

Green would get destroyed by Lebron though.
Of course he would, when the Heat were able to force that matchup a couple times in the series after turnovers, Green immediately intentionally fouled.
Green is a top notch defender and deserves a ton of recognition, but whoever says he's better then Leonard is either overrating him or underrating Leonard. Leonard is elite, already 2nd team all NBA defense team, and will be considered for DPOY next year after the media saw him in these finals.

Wade was pretty good against Indiana, averaging 19.8 PPG on 54.5% shooting. Verde dropped him to 15.2 PPG on 43.8% shooting. It's unfortunate he missed those two open threes in Game 5 so that the national media forgot how great he was this entire playoffs.

Green only intentionally fouled James once (and that was on the break). He guarded him very well. It'd just be too exhausting for him to do it a whole game, due to the size disadvantage.

Did anyone else notice during Pop's speech in the locker room that he said something to the effect of "Thanks for letting me coach you guys, it's been....and I've been a real pain in the ass yelling at you all the time..." and all the players looked and pointed at Danny. Then Pop and Danny hugged.

I hope Danny is one of those guys that never leaves the Spurs. Hes been so good for us. In so many ways HE is the next Bruce Bowen - not Kawhi Leonard. Danny was the scrap heap guy that we picked up, developed, and turned into a player that the world now knows - not unlike Mr. Bowen. Kawhi on the other hand would have been great in many other systems and many other teams (although, maybe not a champion).

65% True Shooting(which is ridiculous), 16.5 PER, 3rd or 4th best net on/off on the team in the playoffs, and great defense against Westbrook/Durant and Wade..

Green and Timmy's rim protection destroyed Wade.

And for 1 play at least so did Tiago! :p:

Green was good, but Wade was shit too

Green still shits on Parker, though
