Finally the Spurs are getting the recognition they truly deserve.
The NBA should market this as much as possible, unselfish team basketball over Sterns' hero superstar basketball.

Everyone loves the Spurs! Being a fan, since 1989, part of me wants to tell them to piss off....but the Spurs deserve all the love, they are finally getting... FINALLY!!

Game 5 last year last wasn't a close out game, no surprise to see the ratings up

Silver seems more team ball promote the team above players, ala NFL. That's above all why the NFL is popular. They promote teams and then the players within the teams.

Or rather, the Worlds Team!

well everyone just wanted to see LeBron lose tbh. The spurs showed how beautiful the game of basketball can be. I don't think anybody can find the spurs boring anymore. They had a bunch of exciting highlights this series.

Shouldn't they be comparing this season's Game 5 to last season's Game 6/7? Actual elimination games.

As much as people hate the Heat's decision to join together, it has actually helped the league's popularity tremendously, and has given recognition to teams like the Mavs and especially the Spurs that never received any hype in the past..

There is always a little good that comes out of every bad.

I think the jump in ratings was mainly due to people wanting to see the Heat lose and getting crushed by the Spurs. Although, im sure those who watched hopefully learn to appreciate the Spurs for what they represent.. Team basketball.
