When we get our rings and raise the banner

I want to open against a bottom feeder, so we can basically pencil in a win during ring and banner night.

^^^ This.

My first thought after the Thunder (Heat would be dumb..need to save that for later) was someone like the Bobcats or Bucks, but that would be insulting to those teams.

The best fit would be a marquee name that we are likely to crush on a night when the focus is on celebrating.

My pick? The Lakers.

Opening against the Lakers would be great, tbh. :toast

Mavericks. Playing the coach that challenged the Spurs the most.

Right now the rest of the NBA are bottom feeder so it doesn't really matter

I think it'll be OKC.

Sacramento should be the opening night sacrifice.

Manu'sMagicalLeftHand
06-17-2014, 01:14 AM
Sacramento, Minnesota, Utah or Pelicans. The other team is always fired up to beat the champs, so it's better if they come from the bottom half. Start the season with a win and build up from there.

The Lakers. With any luck, Kobe will be suited up to watch Duncan receive his fifth ring.

Lakers with Kobe would be pretty good, yeah.

Give Rick a ring too.

Whatever happens. I'm gonna be there. The raising of that championship banner will be so great.

The Heat started this season against the Bulls, who finished as fifth seed the season before. If you apply the same logic to next season, Spurs would be up against the Trail Blazers.

We opened with Memphis this season and OKC the season before, it seems they like WCF rematches

Watching the banner go up will piss off nobody more than Durant and Westbrook. Let it be the Thunder.

I voted OKC. But the people saying Lakers have convinced me that would be better.

Lakers would be sweet. But this will be some Kings or T-Wolves, meaning team that doesnt have rivlary with Spurs.

I am going to to that game.

Division rivals in order of finish.

I wanna play whoever drafts Andrew Wiggins. I think he'll be the next Jordan/Lebron, and I want his first game ever to be against the defending champion dynasty Spurs. And you know that game will be played over and over again if he becomes an all-time great, like Lebron's first game is now. And of course, I want us to win.

BillMc
06-18-2014, 12:51 PM
Yep, all for the Lakers. Then we can get some snarky comments from Kobe as Tim gets his ring.

My thoughts exactly. Plus Phil and his no dynasty speak.

Want to rub it in the Thunder's faces.

Lakers would be the best w/o a doubt. Otherwise, give me Milwaukee or Minny. A real lay down type of game.:lobt:

I don't think you want it to be a legit contender like OKC or Heat. The last thing you want to do is motivate those kind of teams. I would want to play against a team that is kind of like the Washington Generals, who used to be the sacrifical lamb of the Harlem Globetrotters. Give me the Milwaukee Bucks.....

Spurs21Fan4Ever
06-18-2014, 03:27 PM
I want to play a Lakers team that made big off-season signings and will be a contender for a championship. Duncan receiving his 5th ring and him and Kobe looking at each other across court basically saying to each other through their minds, "I'm gonna get #6 this season". That would be sick.

Jimcs50

I would like to play against whatever team gets either Jabari,Wiggins,Embid. I guess I would like them to play against preferably Embid because they are hyping him up to be the next Duncan/Olaujuwon.

Arcadian
06-18-2014, 05:06 PM
Thunder. It will emphasize to them that we are the best team in the West - and make them feel like shit for still having zero rings. :lol

OKC or Mavs, they were the toughest in the playoffs
