How many rangs would they have won? I'm thinking two.

Thoughts?

None you can't win with your best two players lacking defense.

If they surrounded them with defensive pieces, they would have been a legit contender until 2010, tbh..

Nash
Defensive SG that can shoot the 3
Marion
Dirk
Chandler

0 because Dirk wouldn't be forced to reinvent his game.

Nash would have 0 MVPs.

No chance they win anything. Almost all the important pieces to the 2011 title were built on letting Nash go.

-Wouldn't have traded for Jet.

-they never would have signed Dampier. As great as that sounds in hindsight, suffering with Dampier ultimately led to his contract being used in a salary dump to acquire Tyson Chandler. Keeping Nash = Never getting Tyson.

-they never would have traded for Jason Kidd. Kidd's defense in 2011 was just as valuable as Tyson's.

-Chances are JJ Barea wouldn't have gotten a real shot at contributing if he was stuck behind Nash and Devin Harris.

-Dirk never would have grown into the MVP caliber player he became.

-Without Nash around, Shawn Marion would have likely been viewed as a franchise player in Phoenix, and not an expendable role player. Doubtful he ever gets dumped to Miami for Old Man Shaq, and subsequently makes it to Dallas.

Defense is well covered so I'm not going to add to that, but offensively, either Nash or dirk will be relegated to spot up shooters, which obviously both can excel at, but will be an absolute waste of their talent.

Dirk's post up game would probably be under developed with Nash.

In all 0 championships is my guess.

JJ Barea and Stevenson going nuts and Lebron choking like no other superstar has choked before. What a fucking fluke, tbh.

Though Duncan choking last June cost more.

Nash only works fine in a run-and-gun system but such a system will never win you championships. Nash's influence is very limited in half-court offense, i think that accounted more for the decision to let him leave than him being a defensive liability, tbh.

Truly my thoughts are this: Other point guards licked their chops when they saw they were matched up with Nash in the playoffs. He was a constant defensive liability, and defense matters more in the playoffs than offense. As a Spurs fan, I know that Tony Parker was especially excited when he saw Nash lining up opposite to him. Plus, quicker PG's always bothered Nash on the offensive end, and rarely played well offensively in the playoffs because of it.

I don't think the Mavs win any championships if Nash stays with Dirk. They never got anywhere when they were together. The Mavs only got to the Finals in 06 once Nash left.

Nash wouldn't allow Dirk to build his post-game into what it is today.

He'd run too much pick n pop bullshit to pad his assist totals, turning Dirk into this generation's Karl Malone..

Once Kidd took over Dirk's post game went from average to legendary

Nash would have 0 MVPs.

Absolutely. It's a little insulting Nash won 2 MVPs when he was never really that integral to any team and never won a championship. :lol

Everyone knows it's Shaq-Wade-Dirk's MVPs from 05-07, some dumbasses actually thought Nash should've 3-peated in 07.

None, Nash can't carry Kidd's jock strap.

He was integral to the SSOL and it showed when he was out because they suffered. He came back and they prospered. Durant never won a ring and he's an MVP. James had 2 before he won a ring.

It's weird because Nash's game completely evolved when he left Dallas, seemingly overnight. His skillset worked much better with Amare, so it's unlikely we'd ever see the mvp caliber Nash if he spent his full career next to dirk
