Heat taking aim at adding Pau Gasol in an effort to retool roster and give incentive for big 3 to opt in.

34 year old Gasol is not the answer. Role players on the bench and an interior big is what they're missing.

Does that mean Gasol will be a pure 3 point shooter now?

I will lose mad respect for Gasol if he goes to Miami to play with the Great Satan. This guy was a loser before he teamed up with God. He should atleast have some loyalty towards God since it was God who made him a winner.

Pau Gasol would be a big deal for the Heat. The Spurs were fortunate this season to be healthy all at the same time (minus Tony's ankle). Though a team cannot bank on other teams being injured, it's important to grasp that the Heat are still title contenders. They just aren't motivated to win. That's because no one on the team has an insatiable thirst for winning. There are guys who want to win everything all the time, no matter how seemingly insignificant. That's how MJ was and to an extent, Kobe and Manu. You have to have a leader who hates to lose. The Heat seemed content to lose, at least Wade didn't seem bothered by it much.

Joke imo. Gasol just needs to look at how few possessions Bosh gets, and he's instantly understand he'd be getting even less since he'd be playing WITH Bosh.

If he's going to go to a team for rings with little touches and little cash, he might's well just come to SA where he'll be appreciated, used properly, not be blamed for losses, and have a better chance of winning anyway.

Thread saw through the facade ...and I was hesitant to buy in as well Others here lamented the trade and now want to act like that weren't scared of the prospect of Howard in L.A. It is all here for those who have time to seek it. Now we want to crucify "Fredo" for moves Lakers fans were applauding including the Judas Magic (I love Magic the player and business man, hate the coach, analyst and talk show host) and the haters were whining about two summers ago.

You'll have to ship Kobe as well because Gasol can't win a playoff game without him.

Seriously though, prodding Gasol to have value is a ruse, nothing more than hope & a prayer that he'll leave there and show Lakers/Kobe up. Riley is famous for this. He dragged that idiot Smush Parker out there and they ended having to have Miami SWAT take him down. It's the same thing here on talk radio:::Gasol is their knight in shining armor. Yeah, can you believe it? Suggesting that the Suns could sign him for $10 million a year on a two year deal. LOL!!!

IMO Gasol would be a big addition.. they need to bring Wade off the bench and sign a 3-D 2 guard to take some defensive burden off of BOAT. Being able to dump the ball into Pau would also relieve BOAT on the offensive end.

Hopefully doesn't happen.

Your people here, ESPN and affiliates were pimping him for Finals MVP. [They] said it was only after Pop switched out Splitter & Diaw that you became a Champ.

You can't eat your cake and have it too, D. There is no shame in cheating and winning a title because of that cheat. MLB has made a cottage industry out of such behavior. You're just the latest in a long line of assholes.

That's because the team played a balanced attack offense with no clear MVP. It's not because Diaw went Lebron or Jordan on the Heat. Don't be dense. Notice "only after Pop...."? I guess Bonner was the MVP of the WCF since putting him on the floor spread the defense and pretty much nullified Ibaka's paint presence.

Either way, you either are the MVP or you are not the MVP. Boris isn't the MVP. Last year the talk was Danny Green... So I guess he was acquired through a crooked dealing as well.

Pau would be an ok addition, but not enough to put the Heat back on top. He's old, and not a great defender. The Heat need to get younger. Adding Pau is a desperation move, its as if they think they only have one more run in them. If Lebron opts in, Miami needs to plan for the long haul and not the short term.

Make up your fuckin' head.

Desperation is not always bad. They could add a couple of old guys and win another ring. Rings are good. IMO its better to add pieces that allow you to compete for the next 5 titles instead of the next 1 or 2, but neither option is that bad.

Best of all time.

Pat Riley's nickname for Bron.. imo he's right, LeBron is better than Jordan but can't call him the greatest yet with only two rings.

Richie
06-22-2014, 12:46 AM
Bosh was always a great post up player and he has been relegated to a spot up shooter. Their offence is too reliant on Lebron because of coaching, not because they don't have other options.
