Hey... it is what it is. Its no ones fault, but you can't say a lockout season equals a full season. Everyone agrees with this.

Can't disagree.

It's like treating a 10-game NFL season over 8 weeks the same way you treat a regular one. Doesn't make any sense.

You make it seem like they made the playoffs shorter too

Not so. The Spurs won fair and square, but players were out of shape, and injured. Ewing didn't even play in that finals.

Too bad the crux of the argument these last 4 years was Duncan 4 Kobe 5. Not Duncan 3+1 Kobe 5. Then you might have something there

Duncan 6
Rapist 5

I mean, the Spurs probably will win the Championship next season. But Kobe & Lakers look like won't clinch the playoffs next season.
Sorry Lakerfans, it's what it is.

How many stars does Kobe deserve for being carried to his first three by the apex big man in the league?!

So regular season accomplishments don't matter... And yet a shorter regular season warrants an asterisk?

Let's apply this logic to Bill Russell. He only had to win 2 rounds for most of his titles, and at the end only three rounds.

If he's still averaging 25/6/6, yes.

to play the lottery again?

what happens if his injury prone or stays out for 80% of games for both seasons?....thats a waste of money man, remember them darkest days after the aids retirement?

I've never even remotely understood ther asterisk concept. Every team in the league is playing under the same circumstances, so what the fuck makes it an asterisk? The spurs didn't get any advantage from it, they just happened to not have any destructive injuries and won a championship. The other 29 teams could have done the same

He's one of 15. It's not incumbent upon him to fill the other 14 slots. If from his slot he's again averaging 25/6/6 then yes. Now, if he can no longer cut the mustard above 20% over 2 seasons then it is time for him to go. And I believe he'd be the first one to step off.
