Who should take a pay cut? What?

Well you can't have him. All that will happen is you will take the ball out of his hands and shoot 30 times a game you pussy

And Phil Jackson aside the Knicks are a goddamn disaster and will remain so for many years to come.

He suggests the rest of the team should take a pay cut, not him.
Mill won't be worth a 2 day old shit without the ball movement to free him up and to allow him to move around the floor. He's not good at standing around doing nothing while Melo goes for arena records.
He suggests the rest of the team should take a pay cut, not him.
He said that? I wouldn't put it past him to, lol.

Anthony would really be crazy at this point to not join either the bulls or the Rockets. Obviously he's taking less money but if the asshole actually wants to win those are his two best bets..

Melo should go to the Bulls imo.. he would have a good team around him and he could still chuck up 25 shots a night and be a contender..not to mention haveng a garuanteed trip to the ECF every season.

Definitely. The Bulls are already a favorite in the east with an 80 percent Derrick Rose, with Melo they would be pushed over the top and become the favorites.

Highly unlikely but if Patty were to sign with Miami would he become the new most hated man on ST, surpassing Westbrook tbh?

Yep Bulls are by far his best destination. Not to mention their team defensive would somewhat mask his personal issues as a defender.

Nah I'd be happy for him if he made his money. I'd root against him but I'd be happy for him.

If he does leave, would that make Cojo our backup pg or does Spurs try and find a veteran replacement? And no Beno shouldn't be that guy.

If he signs with Miami I'm burning my shirt he signed for me when I came over to see him play.
It isn't going to happen. Mills is staying in San Antonio.

Would Patty's leaving generate as big a thread as the Manu national team thread? Not likely. :lol

If the knicks wants Mills they need to give Iman shumpert or Tim hardaway jr...

I really don't think patty will be in SA next year. I've read numerous posts about how there's no way he's leaving, after seeing the Alamo dome celebration. I tend to think the opposite. I look at the celebration as a possible sendoff for him. Plus what player doesn't want to make a bunch more $$, while starting on a team. Only way he stays in SA is if he doesn't get that big offer from another team. The bad news....it's the NBA.. money will get thrown at him from someone.

He said "I want Patty"....just saying the guy seems to be a switch hitter be careful Patty..
I think he stays the dude is very loyal and Pop gave him the opportunity to work for and get playing time. They will be a conversation that you keep doing what your doing you will get more minutes next season and maybe even start some games for us.

People (including Patty) just need to look at players who have left San Antonio for the $$. Ask Gary Neal how he felt making more money with the Bucks. He was miserable on a losing team. If someone gives Patty absurd money then he should probably take it. If the Spurs can make a fair offer then he should stay.

For the long timers, why didn't we resign Speed Claxton during the summer of 2003?
We had a huge haul that summer with Nesterovic, Horry, Turkoglu, Mercer and Anthony Carter. Don't understand why the backup PG who came through in the Finals wasn't brought back.

No. Ex-Spurs are rarely hated.

He made only 2 out of 38 3 pointers in the 2003 playoffs, including 0 for 18 against the Spurs. They were pretty sure he was done.

Good point.
But what about a couple of years later in 2005?

Good point.

Not so much.
A little history that amuses me.
The Spurs signed Horry to a one year deal for 4.5M in 2003. He was pretty bad for the Spurs in 2003-04 and he signed a second one year deal for only 1.1M for the next season. So when Horry went nuts in the 2005 playoffs he was basically on a minimum contract.
That got him three more years for a total of about 10M, and he earned every penny with one well-placed and well-timed hip check.

Agreed. There likely will be a bidding war for Patty from 2-4 desperate teams. I see him getting a contract in the $5.5 mill per year area. Is he worth that? Can the Spurs afford that? If they were paying Bonner $4.5, then yes. Will Patty have the success he's had with the Spurs in another system? Probably not.

Pop and RC were waiting on SJax to make a decision on their contract offer before offering a bigger contract to Speedy. In the process, Speedy got a big contract offer and had to take it.

They can't. Being multi time repeat tax scofflaws, the biggest chunk of money they have will be the mini-mid exception, about $3M, IIRC.
