Clearly, Duncan is incapable of repeating, no stamina once he completes a ring. All the help in the world, the 2nd greatest coach of all time, and he can't even get 1 god damn repeat after 18 years?

I don't get that either. Just like Ray's 3. It didn't win or lose the game. The play subsequent to those things did, but Lakers fan has a corrupted master file table and can barely recall the Finals.

So because at some point in some season prior to the one we just witnessed, the Lakers won a ring, you have eternal rights to pretend it just happened a week ago. Got it.

Fans and pundits all over the world thought the Spurs were stuck in last June, especially you, yet here we are a year later, 25% heavier than we were. That proves we're not stuck in last June, just like you're not stuck with that blowout in Boston after your team avenged itself. That's what "avenged" means...

This. People need to realize, the teams winning the most titles in most sports are the richest ones in the biggest cities with the highest team salaries. The NBA especially has had half it's Finals include either the Lakers or Celtics. That's kinda fucked up how the same two teams are always there.

Tim won in a small/medium market way more times than any other NBA team has. Of course I realize only trolls and morons don't understand how impressive it is.

The premise of a repeat is somehow more of an accomplishment to an individual is actually opposite to the reality.

For a team to repeat or three peat, it means that the team, as a whole, is that much better than the competition, which is the function of a superb management, superior financial resources, or inferior competition. Therefore, the credit for any one individual player is that much lesser due to the factors above.

We started seeing increased frequency of repeats since the late 80s after decades of no repeats, and it's no coincidence that there are huge issues with parity all along. It is also a time of massive expansion, high pay rolls, and every team that has repeated is from a late market. Therefore, it goes to reason that repeats are a function of financial resources and talent disparity rather than individual brilliance.

You don't pay him on projection. You pay him on performance. When they cut him 20% it was based on 25/6/6.
