Clippers Would Consider Moving Blake In Deal For LeBron

The Los Angeles Clippers have had discussions about the possibility of acquiring LeBron James, though they expect him to eventually re-sign with the Miami Heat.

Doc Rivers, the Clippers’ president of basketball operations and coach, and his staff are doing their due diligence to make the team better and would consider moving All-Star power forward Blake Griffin along with others in a sign-and-trade deal to get James, according to the officials.

The Clippers could consider sending Griffin and Jared Dudley or Matt Barnes to Miami to get James.

The Clippers wouldn’t mind trading DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford and either Barnes or Dudley to the Heat for James, but the team knows that would most likely be hard to do.

“The Miami Heat does not think he’s leaving,” one official said. “Miami thinks it’s a ploy by James to make the team better.”

The Clippers could also conceivably create enough cap space to sign James by trading away Jordan and another contract without taking back salary.

LA and Dallas are the only big markets with enough cap space to acquire either Melo or Bron (or even both), so the competition between LA and Dallas is gonna heat up imho. It only makes sense to Lakers if they acquire both, if they only get Melo they wouldn't be much better than last season and if they get only Lebron they'd become LA Cavs. Meanwhile, if the Mavs get Melo they'd immediately be a contender again, not to say if they get Lebron.

It's Cleveland and Miami. Lebron isn't going to the Clippers mess and play for Sterling. It's a two team scenario and Savannah doesn't want to live in Miami with all their fake fans and fake people, she wants to live in beautiful NE Ohio.

Sterling will be gone soon, the judge damn near laughed his lawsuit out of court the other day.... meanwhile, Cavs are stuck with Gilbert for a long time :lol

Savannah reportedly wants to live in San Diego and wants Kang to play for the Clippers if he heads to SoCal....

Cavs are in no position to pursue Lebron when they only have 16m available, only about half Dallas's figure. I believe it's a 1 of 2 choice for Satan between LA and Dallas, and the same goes for Melo as well. Say, LA and Mavs will each land a big-name FA this summer and still have plenty of cap room to work with.

Ethan Skolnick, a legit Heat "reporter", claiming that Bosh and Wade will opt out at some point in the next few days..

:lol all this talk for nothing..Lebron was never going to leave Miami..

A lot of respect for Wade if he takes less, tbh..

That doesn't end it. Just starts it, though a better start would be Wade opting out then tendering his resignation and entering the deep sea sponge diving business there in south Florida. Maybe get the bends and die after being packed in ice.

:lol I don't know what is funnier, Cavs fans who think Lebron wants to comeback to that shitty Cavs team, or the fans who think Lebron will have a better chance of ringing with them rather than with Miami.

If Lebron is leaving Miami, he will go to a team that will help better his shot at winning more rings. The Cavs are not even in this discussion. He might comeback to Cleveland when he is 35-36 years old, but he sure as hell won't go now.

what moves can miami make to realistically improve LeBron's odds of winning compared to last year?

It's a first class mess, and as soon as this soccer shit ends, Cowherd won't get to it.

Miami should improve just by reducing Lebron's load/minutes next season, tbh..he has carried a larger load than any player on a contender in NBA history the past 2 seasons..part of that is Lebron's insistence on not sitting out regular season games, and part of it is Wade sitting all the time/lack of secondary options..

They should be fine with playing him 33 MPG and accepting the 3rd or 4th seed IMO..

that said, if the spurs were to actually make it back, and they had a rematch, its still going to be 1 man vs team. its going to take roster improvement, not just minutes management

They fucked up having him guard Parker. James would have these great first and third quarters and then look completely fucking winded in second and fourth quarters when he'd start shooting too many jumpers. Can't have him guard Parker, carry the offense, and never get rest at the same time.

the problem is, having him somebody else on parker opens up all sorts havoc. i'm thinking 4th quarter of game 5 type of stuff

ESPN reports that the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, and Brooklyn Nets top LeBron James' list of potential free agent destinations, in that order, and that the Clippers, surprisingly, are not at the top of that list.

if Lebron goes to the West, which sounds unlikely, how bad would the East be? it's already historically terrible, but would just be pointless to even play the West if he bolts.

It's gonna be funny watching you cry when LBJ stays in Miami.
No crying here, either we land LBJ or move on to Plan B (trading for Afflalo or Ariza and getting a non-worthless backup big)....

If Ariza goes to Clippers, I'd genuinely be pissed. He was easily my favorite non-allstar Laker. I never wanted MWP.

We killed the Miami Heat franchise. :lol

:lol Seriously...just another name to cross off the list of Spurs casualties.

You have to think, if the Heat had 3peated, he might not have opted out.
