Is there any particular reason for this totally out-of-character solo appearance by Tim on a nationally-broadcast talk show? I don't recall him ever doing this before.

Is this the fulfillment of some promise he made to the team in return for winning a 5th title after being written-off by the national media and average NBA fan for so long? A challenge of some sort?

Just wondering...:wakeup

Kinda disappointed Letterman didn't ask him more about his personal life. Was surprised he kept mentioning NBA accomplishments instead. Anyone can do that. Tim is finally on a non-sports talk show...so don't talk about just sports. Ugh!

Tim was great but damn was Letterman terrible. Barely gave Tim a chance to answer and kept jumping from topic to topic in a very unnatural way. Also seemed to have done very little in terms of reading the notes his research folks put together for him. Didn't seem to know anything about the divorce, Tim's personality, or the Spurs.

I haven't seen Letterman in a couple years, so not sure if its him or the show, but it really felt tired and unprofessional. I may be biased, but Tim seemed much more engaging and entertaining than Dave did.

I totally agree. Dave lost his spark a looong time ago. Duncan was cordial throughout and actually laughed at Letterman's half-assed jokes. I'd like to see Duncan on Craig Ferguson, now that would be a riot!

Tim was fine, he looked a little uncomfortable. But he did the best he could with weirdo Letterman. David was a lousy host quite honestly. Didn't seem to have done basic research and didn't ask the easy questions like, what are you doing this off season? do you go back to the virgin islands? are you taking your kids to the statue of liberty? etc. Was kind of strange when he referred to Tim's family and Tim didn't correct him.

I thought it was a great interview. Tim was relaxed and cool and got major respect from Dave and the crowd. Dave was just Dave even though he's old. But he's the late night guy with the most cred right now so it makes sense that Tim went on his show.

Tony on Kimmel, Tim on Letterman and Kawhi on daytime. That's more exposure than the Spurs have ever received. There might be more. The NBA PR machine is going to have to come to terms that the Spurs will repeat next year. Hell yeah!

he's had some great moments at CBS, I even thought he was good at first. I think the Leno backstabbing, followed by Leno prevailing in the ratings, just brought out his apathetic side. his Late Night era was his best, same with Conan.
