Remember in the pre-Woj days when you actually had to watch the draft to see what trades went down? :lol

Heck yeh! Welcome back AAA. Should never have been sent packing for that dirty traitor.

Orlando now has opened up more than $35 million in capspace to go after James and Anthony together. What's really crazy is they'd also have about $17 million in capspace next year also even if they land both thanks to Harrington and Davis coming off the books. James, Anthony, Vucevic, Harris, max 2015 FA sounds pretty nasty.

I get notified of his tweets on my phone. His tweets are a good complimentary to the fun that is NBA Draft. I shouldn't say complimentary though because that nigga breaks news before everyone else, so he's just as big as the Draft for the hardcore NBA fan. :lol

West keeps getting tougher...I thought they ORL would get a better draft pick than that.

Afflalo is a little overrated, but he should fit well with the Nuggets..doesn't really change their outlook, though..

Fournier and #56? Surely they could have got a lot more for him

So no one is impressed at the idea they could pull James and Anthony this year and then go get Kevin Love next season?

Richie
06-26-2014, 11:02 AM
Seriously, the Nuggets should flip him to the Thunder for #21 and #29

If you're LeBron, certainly Anthony/Vucevic/Harris/Oladipo has to look at least as good as Wade/Bosh/Chalmers/Allen with Wade and Allen breaking down. Only downside is going from Philibeaner to Jacque Vaughn at coach. But then you get Kevin Love in 2015 also.

Fucking sucks for the Clippers, now we're left with three options: LeBron (least likely), Ariza (maybe), or another season of Barnes and Dudley laying bricks and getting torched (most likely) :bang

Clippers would be real scary if they had even 1 competent SF, tbh:lol..

Orlando couldn't keep Shaq or Dwight for a reason. No one wants to play in Orlando.

I would never throw money at Ariza. Looks great in contract years, but shit, do you remember how awful he was in Houston after signing his previous deal?

There is no LA Lakers to entice people out of Orlando now like with Shaq, and Howard is just a piece of shit. They also landed Prime Hill and Prime McGrady, and came pretty close to getting Prime Duncan. No state income tax too.

Ariza couldn't possibly be a bigger waste of space than Jared Dudley :lol

Another thing I'm wondering is why Denver even wanted Afflalo back.... it's not like they're an Afflalo away from contention, they'll still be treadmilling with him like they would be with Fournier....

yah, true, lakers are not an ideal FA landing spot nowadays, but them Clippers are looking real tasty for premier free agents .

Yep, a fortnight ago you were trying to get Duncan's Diaw's, Manure's & Parker's visas vacated.

So now they have ANOTHER wing on a big contract? They better make a trade soon to relieve that pressure, or they've gone supernova in their stupidity.

Denver has $66 Million committed to the 2015 cap already. That's bonkers.

For a team that probably won't make the playoffs and has virtually no upside:lol..

There ya go---that's the ticket. Use that (66) instead of that other number you and your cohorts have been bandying about without so much as a break to catch your fucking breath.

Savvy?

Who else is going to Orlando? Denver don't have the cap space to absorb his contract.

Apparently they were offered Henderson and the 24th pick from the Hornets.

Orlando would have $12.8mm committed to four guys (Oladipo, Harkless, Nicholson, Fournier) but can cut about $2-$3mm by not exercising the team option on any of the latter ones (or dealing them for a future pick). Cap holds on Vucevic and Harris would take them up to $19+ million (assuming 125% of prior year), so adding in Lebron and Melo at $18mm each, that would bring them to $55mm. No way to get Love added with only $10mm in cap space. If Melo and Lebron were to take less, there might be some flexibility but there would be roster holds on the other ~6 spots.

Would then have to sequence the new deals to Harris and Vucevic to happen after Love were signed, and some team could come in and screw up your plans as noted by Kevin Pelton on Lowe's podcast.

It's probably not going to happen, but not impossible...

On edit, I forgot to factor in the money for this year's first round picks. That cuts another $5 million+ from the money available to Love. So basically, it's Melo+Lebron, the picks and the team that they have today.

Afflalo is very tradeable and a decent player. He was so cheap, it didn't matter the ramifications of the deal, you have to do it IMO

I like him but thought he signed a sizable deal before he was traded ...No?

Crap, I was thinking those were team options and not qualifying offers on Vucevic+Harris for 2015-16.

He's got 2 years, 15M left which isn't too bad for his progression. It's a short contract, he's a good player (even if overrated some) and will be easily tradeable (more than their 2nd round pick and Fournier that they gave up). Like I said, regardless, he was just a good value IMO.

Not bad like him. Would rather Ariza have at that price, though.
