Saw it on NBATV. They are saying $108M/5, but that would be against the CBA. Only designated rookies can get five-year extensions.

Anyway, it will be interest to see if he takes it. If he decides to wait, he's as good as gone next summer.

Just folks doing a poor job of living off of reporting done a day earlier by Woj:

With only a remote chance that Aldridge will agree to the three-year, $55.5 million extension afforded him this summer under the collective bargaining agreement, the Blazers are determined to keep Aldridge on a five-year, $108 million extension that he can sign upon reaching free agency next summer.

Yeah, even Woj used the wrong terminology for a 2015 deal. It would be a new contract, not an extension.

108m is petty cash to the owner,

but still each year there is only 3-4 real contenders and the blazers like the rest of the other teams are just making up the n umbers, aldridge should just go for the money

how much money would an nba championship help a player earn more from outside of the league?

Makes more sense now. The Blazers better make some noise this post-season. People can act like they're on the rise as much as they want, but if they don't add some good players, they may well fall a couple of rungs down the West ladder.

His knees will implode couple months later. Portland shouldnt sign their all-stars to longer deals than 2 years.

Yup, the 2007 Jazz and the 2008 Hornets were also on the rise.

Retarded on the part of the blazers. He's not worth $20m a season and certainly not for 5 years.

He's probably worth $13 - $15 mil tops. When is Lillard's contract up tbh?

He's not yet superstar caliber imho. He is good but his impact is too dependent on matchups I think, against certain type of bigs he is a beast, but against other types he would more often than not shit the bed and suck plain asses imho.

Yep like Hin but not at max. Only few guys worth that and he is not one.
