All-Star forward Zach Randolph has reached agreement with the the Memphis Grizzlies on a two-year, $20 million contract extension that begins in 2015-16, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Randolph's agent, Raymond Brothers, told Yahoo Sports on Friday morning that an agreement had been reached.

Randolph, 32, will exercise his $16.5 million player option for 2014-15 and extend the deal with the additional two years and $20 million. Randolph had until Monday to exercise his option or become a free agent on July 1. Talks had been ongoing for several weeks.

Z-Bo is a consistent contributor. He may not deserve that amount per year, especially as he is now 32, but his contributions vis-a-vis the rest of the NBA big men drive his price tag up.

Why is $10 million a year bad for Randolph? He puts up 17 and 10 and has an old man game that should age pretty well.

You just need to use him the right way in order for him to be a contributor imho. Memphis seems like just the right system for him, he's a bit overpaid but they have to keep him if they still wanna run for a playoff seat next season, knowing the west is gonna be much tougher with Lebron/Melo coming over possibly.

He looked done last year. I don't see how this helps Memphis going forward.

Good deal. Depending on what they do this season the Grizzlies should have over 30 million in cap space next season.

Got to take care of that SF position whether through trades or free agency.

Should have gotten a little less than that. Its going to be a terrible contract in a couple of years.
