Tim Duncan had decided to sign with them in 2000 and teamed up with McGrady and Grant Hill. Do they ring? If so, how many? Would Duncan still be in the NBA today?

Him & McGrady would probably be married & raising a family by now.

Orlando couldn't have paid all 3. They had money for two max slots. Once Duncan stayed w/ SA, they went after McGrady. So if he had signed there, he might have a ring, but probably not given Hill's injury issues.

The east was such dogshit back then that a prime Hill/Duncan combo would be lock for the finals with three empty jerseys around them, so that's half the battle. A competently run franchise should have been able to get essentially what the Heat got, at least 4 finals trips with a couple of rings. This being the Magic I would believe they play the part of the Buffalo Bills during the Lakers 3 peat and blow it up by 2004.

Unless you also add "what if Grant Hill was healthy and never got injured" into that equation, Duncan signing with Orlando wouldn't lead to a lot of rings.
