Bleacher Report reported Saturday that Haslem did not exercise his $4.62 million player option and now is free to sign with any team -- including re-signing a team-friendly deal with the Heat to create extra space under the salary cap -- starting Tuesday.
LeBron James (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1966/lebron-james) has already opted out of his deal with the Heat, and teammatesChris Bosh (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1977/chris-bosh) and Dwyane Wade (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/1987/dwyane-wade) -- who have the same representation as Haslem -- have until midnight on Monday to make the same decision.

i don't understand this at all. i can understand lebron, wade, and bosh opting out and signing for less because they've already made ridiculous amounts of money plus endorsements..but for a guy like haslem to walk away from 4.62 million is fucking dumb and with that kind of financial aptitude he'll probably be broke in 10 years. if i'm the heat i don't even bring him back, dude barely played any minutes last year and looked shitty.
