What about Billups? Or are his knees all done?
Could split the mins with Cojo, wouldn't need a lot from him.

Prefer Nelson over Billups, if he decides to take less to win a ring. If Spurs sign Billups we'd have four FMVPs in the roster though.

Billups is the same age as Duncan and has missed between 46 and 63 games in each of the last three seasons.

He hasn't been right since his return to the Nuggs. I'd consider Nick Van Exel in the same breath.

Billups is still in the league ?
If mills is gone, i see 2 players that i would like to see in spurs jersey : Bo McCalebb or Shaun Linvingston.

Why not bring Avery back if that's the case.

Billups is done for 3 years already, tbh.

Marc Stein tweeted that the Spurs have contacted Shaun Livingston on the first night of free agency. Is Livingston Plan A or Plan B?

More than likely Plan B.

This would be awesome if true. Love Livingston's story, true PG with size, and probably affordable

I think everyone wants Mills back. Livingston is a combo guard and can guard both positions. If anything, I can see this as a sign that the Spurs may move Joseph.

How about Jason Kidd?

He said that he regretted passing up the chance to sign with SA in 2003. Now the chance.

Would love to see the Spurs keep Mills and Diaw & sign Livingston. He could back up 3 positions if necessary.

Seriously? Billups should just retire.

If Mills walks, I'd like for the team to go after Shaun Livingston. He'll probably be a little expensive though.

That SOB almost cost us a young Parker.

I said it in real time that morning on Dusty's old site -- "We just dodged a bullet!"

CoJo is a more than capable backup PG in this league tbh.

Guy is too old to play. Trade two second rounders to get him to replace Pop and take over for RC!

Vasquez might be available this summer, the thing is his defense...

But his flashy passes fit here very well.

siraulo23
07-01-2014, 09:59 AM
It will be hard to replace mills, it's tough enough to find a shooter like him, not to mention the intangibles he brings to the table, oh and his underrated perimeter defense

I really don't want to think about Patty playing somewhere else, nor Diaw either.
I'll wait to see what happens.

Mills is worth around $3.75M/year on the open market. That's my guess and I'm sticking to it.

Are you insane?

What is with this forum,

and wanting 50 year olds???

If Billups played in the Finals,

instead of Mills,

the Spurs get blown out in 4.

Doesn't matter

if he hits a few shots,

as he'll give up 40 on D.

No.

Never.

Spurs really have no excuse to not re-sign Diaw and Mills. There won't be a lot of Diaw suitors because he fits best on the Spurs. So Diaw should be an easy re-sign. Mills might get a higher and longer contract bid but the Spurs are under the cap right now and very far away from the luxury tax.

An 18yr old Australian untried at college & relatively unknown point guard just got drafted for an estimated $4million per year - so how come an established Australian with a great career at college , highest point scorer at the Olympics, a big game player and who saves Parker' arse in the playoffs is only worth $12 million over 3 years. Let alone for marketing purposes Patty is very very popular . Spurs should offer him $25 million over 4 years and increase his time on the court as Parker approaches retirement. In the past Spurs have achieved great value from their players but this is 2014 - any agent worth his salt will get max payments ; loyalty does not come into it; players are professional.

@ESPNSteinLine: Spurs & Mills, I'm told, already talking new deal ... but injury bound to shrink what might've been promising market for flammable shooter

:rollinNo, actually the Spurs purposely injured him so they could re-sign him for the min. They're badass like that.
