Josh Smith sucks...he's got a 3's body, with the handles of a guard, yet he's nothing more than an athletic Tiago Splitter with some strength. :lol

Josh Smith is in his prime. The true matter of the situation is that he still believes he's an above average shooter. He's not. Smith's prime won't even matter if he's bricking shots. His career and game is a misconception; an anomaly which would correctly contradicting in a parallel universe.

Smith and Monroe are both ass, tbh..I'd actually probably rather have Smith, as much of a headache as he is with his shot selection..

I don't get why people love Monroe. I would sign and trade him so fast if I were DET. Smith too. Is post scoring at such an all-time low that guys like Monroe are actually highly regarded?

Are you still hurt from being banned and almost sued by the Magic Chris?

We've yet to see how good Drummond & Monroe could be together, Drummond's rookie year he suffered a season ending injury early IIRC, 2nd year together, a real cancer in Josh Smith is brought in...

If Splitter is worth 10m/yr then a more athletic Splitter would be well worth a max, imho.

A tweener forward with Splitters offensive game is not.

Greg Monroe is an above average player right now which is not anything special, but Josh Smith was absolutely horrendous last season. Don't blame anyone for not wanting that overrated chucker on their team.

If I was a team like the lakers ie one with cap space who no one wanted to play for I might trade for smith in the hopes that you could convince to tone down the jumpers. plus you could maybe extract a lotto pick out of Detroit in the salary dump

Have mediocre basketball players always been such fucking primadonnas?

This is what the Jordans, Kobes, and Melos of the league have started...a league where even middling players think they have the right to run their team and hold them hostage.

That being said, Josh Smith HAS become a garbage player, and I can't blame Monroe for wanting him gone.

This is why I like what the Spurs have done. The Magic are trying to replicate that and are quietly doing so. Its important to not allow players to hold your team hostage and know their place. Players have recently only gotten greedier to compensate for their insecurities of not being satisfied with their financial state.

They just signed Ben Gordon :lol

Yeah..he's definitely the only player the Magic acquired this of season.

The Magic signed him to a 2 year contract with an unguaranteed second year. In other words, it already an expiring. With how the Pistons and Bobcats screwed up his career, the Magic are giving him one year to prove he's still got it without handicapping the team with an overpaid player.

Pretty damn solid signing. Better than overpaying for Diva's.

Doubt it. Magic scouting has been on players all season. Anyone who was part of that championship is gone. Its a fresh faced team.

I've already read that. If you believe Ben Gordon is going to be coach killing in only one season, you're wrong. Like I've said again, he's experiing at the end of the year and the Magic have the option of giving him the second year. He's on a contract year and will have to play hard without no repercussions. Otherwise, his career is done and his value all but diminished.

Then...you realize that the Bobcats franchise hasn't had much success. They haven't done anything respectable with their picks. most of them were busts. I doubt Ben Gordon would want to rot there.

I like how the best thing Magicfans can say about this signing is that the second year isn't guaranteed.

Magic only signed Gordon to hit the salary floor supposedly. Part of their tanking process purportedly
