It's all over the news this week about this girl, hunters are torn about defending her as she is merely killing nearly extinct animals for fun (endangered rhinos, elephants, etc).

I think in the case of the lion, it was to control the lion population so more of the other animals around there could survive. ANd in the case of the rhino, it was tranquilized so it could be given medical treatment because it was wounded by a lion.
