I apologize in advance about this thread but most filipinos in ST generally just post around this part of the site...

@Siraulo

I kinda need some input here..I'm planning on buying a condo next year in the Greater Manila Area. I have no idea what I'm looking at price wise and unfortunately there isn't enough information online..

Are there any good condos priced around 30-55k Dollars? Two rooms, a kitchen and a living room? I really don't have any place to crash in the Philippines, but over the last two years I've started to get connected again with my relatives back home and now plan to visit every year.

1.5 to 2 million pesos is my budget...What do you guys recommend and should i even live in the city?

Where will you specifically want to go/stay? I mean do you already have a plan?
Will you just stay for a short period of time or long?

Right now I'm living in Marikina, the city is quite peaceful and know someone who could sell with your budget around. The establishment just recently opened and occupying the room is ready I think around September to December.

Traffic here is so really bad by the way.

TBH if you plan to just visit few times a year because pf relatives, I wouldnt advise you buying a condo it's not practical imho. But if you really plan on buying one i dont think 2 million pesos is enough for 2 rooms kitchen living room. The place you want might cost you 5-10 mil. Dont rely too much on me though still going to uni so take my opinion fwiw.

Dafuq is up with buying a condo if you're not gonna stay in the country for too long. Just find a cheap hotel

2 million pesos would get you a studio type / one bedroom condo in some of SM's properties ie Grass (connected to SM north and near edsa and mrt line), fern (SM Fairview) etc It might be ok if you are single imho and the free amenities like pool, gym, badminton and basketball is great

I am not sure when spurstalk started- but I have likely been viewing ST in my last years in college 2003 - 2004 though looking at my account it was only 2006 that I registered

Watsup bros! Btw, Congrats to us rare Spurs fans here in our country, Philippines, as our favorite NBA team just won a championship recently.:toast Hope I get to personally meet some of you in the future.

Since OP started this thread and is asking for help regarding his search for a property, I would like to use this opportunity to shamelessly plug in that I'm a real estate agent for Ayala Land. Properties we offer are located in Makati, Taguig, BGC and Nuvali. Most of our properties are on pre-selling stage but I assume, based on your statement, that you are looking for one that is ready for occupancy? Also, may I know what location you are specifically looking to buy a property at? Greater Manila Area is too broad. In any case, I can refer you to a broker friend of mine who might be able to provide what you're looking for.

Anyway, seems like condos have been sprouting all around Metro Manila, especially near the MOA area.

Don't buy SM. Poor build quality. Take a look at some of the mid end projects of DMCI. Aveo of Ayala also is launching condos in that price range.

Your best bet is to go south a bit and take a look at some of the single detached and town house developments coming up there. Cost of land in the greater metro area is just getting ridiculous.

Other than that, 8990 Holdings is launching some condo projects in Makati and Mandaluyong that are in that range, if you really want city living.

Also look for projects of small developers in areas like Barangay San Antonio in Makati or New Manila in the San Juan area. You find some decent new or newly renovated row house style townhouse projects.

Avoid City Land projects. Poor resale value.
