Shoulder injuries are tricky and are very prone to reinjury especially if the rototator cuff is involved. I imagine that he is to keep it immobile with it heals which you are probably looking at that being maybe half the time. Rehab is what is going to take a long time. Regaining strength and range of motion is likely intended to be brought along slowly.

My guess is that some leading baseball guy probably got the big job on Patty's shoulder. He'll be in good hands. No need to rush.

Not waving that towel on the bench is going to be the hardest part of his recovery.

What a bummer, was hoping to see Patty in some HEB commercials this year...

I would imagine that the time he is expected to be out is worse case scenario type stuff. But the Spurs have an opportunity to have Joseph really improve. And it opens a spot to see how one of their other "stashed" guys can contribute. I'd like to see what Bertrans can do.

We should get Bertans and this new guy Bertrans to both come over! That would really confuse the announcers...

"Bertrans with the rebound, Bertrans outlet to Bertans on the wing, 2 on 1, Bertans to Bertrans, back to Bertans, Slam!"

"That was some beautiful passing allowing one of them the easy bucket..."

Not to be the thread police but no more than a week of immobilization then light rehab begins. You are correct full range of motion and strength will take a long time.

I think that is how he injured it in first place. Pop needs to take the towels away from him from now on. Teach him how to whistle.

Btw, he's probably gonna be Fatty Mills again after not doing shit for 7 months

True, but you know how it is when one part of your body is recovering, you tend to feel like crap and you don't work out like normal. He'll have his arm in a sling for months, so he won't feel like running at all.

No, but I bet they have him doing something, maybe in the swimming pool or something like that.

It shouldn't be that bad. He'll be under restrictions so as not to shake/disrupt/abuse the shoulder, but he's a young, healthy guy who had minor surgery. They'll have something for him to do soon. I had my left kidney removed in March, and I was power walking 5K a week later, at the gym on the elliptical two weeks post-surgery, and running four weeks post-surgery. And I'm old enough to be his dad (44).

:lol

It's not like you or me. These are pro athletes with a wide array of resources at their disposal. He's not going to have any problem finding ways to work out until he can run again.
