Just got back from Oahu about five hours ago, and here are some of the "artsy" pictures I took on the trip. Anyone else into photography? I actually DID take these.

This is ... just what it says. Taken on the USS Missouri.

Sunset outside a luau. Get used to these, I was all over the place finding different angles.

A fisherman casting his net at dusk

Another angle. I like this and the next one best.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b307/stcrawford/hawaii163.jpg

This one is ok.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b307/stcrawford/hawaii184.jpg

I really like this one. It's taken from inside the USS Arizona Memorial (Pearl Harbor). The flag looks very clean.

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b307/stcrawford/hawaii113.jpg

Eh. I was trying for the moon and the palm. It's there, but don't really like how it turned out.

Coming up on the Arizona Memorial by ferry.

Another outside the Arizona.

A sub launched missle.

A scope view of a side mounted gun from the USS Missouri.

A swimming hole/waterfall at the end of some park/hike.

A closeup from the Dole Plantation.

Thanks guys.

I only took my digital camera, which is a Sony DSC-P73 Cybershot. 4.1 Megapixels.

I had never seen the inside of the Arizona Memorial, either. I thought it'd be a building with pictures and such, but it's all wide open with nothing inside. The tribute stuff is back on the shore.

Haha...just saying that you don't need a really expensive camera to get good pictures if you have somewhat of an eye for it - not that I'm an expert. I don't know anything about the Fuji one you're looking at, but I can say the Sony is a really good camera. Very user friendly, and takes good, clear pictures.

Somewhere in the 200-300 range.

http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/346/lakers19px.jpg I disagree.

At that size you lose all the details in the pics - and the details make all the difference :eyebrows

King,
Those pics are awesome. I can't wait to show them to my husband tonight when he gets home. He is from Oahu and he got his undergraduate degree in Photojournalism from UH, so I am sure he will appreciate these photos. I have been there twice with him and your pics really do capture the beauty of the island. Great job.
