Should be $0.30 today just to match the 1993-adjusted $18.4

No argument here in concept. I'm not sure if it should be $0.30, more, or less, but I have stated myself we need to raise the gasoline tax, and then adjust for inflation.

It should be a lot higher than $0.30, since US has allowed roads and bridges to deteriorate.

US could also use the Keynesian stimulus of govt infrastructure spending.

And then throw a carbon tax on top to finance non-carbon transport energy.

Maybe a little higher, but not a lot.

How about $0.35, then index it to inflation quarterly?
