I don't understand Granger at anything more than the minimum. I don't understand McRoberts at anything more than about $3.5 million a year. Riley completely screwed the pooch, and it's going to cost him James and Bosh.

Yeah, I actually like Temple for the Heat. He's managed to hang on to a roster spot by being a decent all-around bench guy. Still has some upside. Much better pickup than at the min Granger for the LLE.

Yep, and this is what Riley should have been focusing on..

The Heat need athletic role players that can play a niche role around Lebron..they need defensive players that won't be overwhelmed by athleticism, etc..

They are going to need small-name players like Temple to break out and become Danny Green-types, not washed-up scrubs like Granger..

They're done with making moves other than minimum salary signings unless they're sign and trade deals with Bosh, Wade, or James.

They also need scorers, guys who wouldn't depend on James for their shots. I'm not talking about a star second banana like Melo, either. A glass-cannon player like Neal would help.

Still not sold on the big 3 demanding all the money being talked about. I still think they make significant cuts and have at least one significant signing up their sleeve.

Yup - unless there is a S&T for Bosh/Wade or the Heat renounce Wade or Bosh (or Both), they have no more money to spend on FA's outside of min contracts.

If Bosh walks, and Wade takes a pay cut to about 12M a year, even with Lebron at max, MIA will have about 15M in cap space then. But that's if Bosh walks. If Wade/Bosh walk and MIA doesn't renege on Granger/McRoberts, MIA can offer Bron a max deal and have 26M in cap space I think (roughly).

They won't do it, but IMO that is a better plan.

If I'm Bron, I'd rather have McRoberts/Temple/Shabazz and 26M in cap space than Bosh/Wade + those same players.

With Lebron, you can easily get more than Bosh/Wade for 26M IMO..especially if this is as good as Wade will get.

There's still a few players better than McRoberts for MLE. Jordan Hill for one could address some of their issues and he's available. Heck, Xavjer Henry or Bazemore are a lot more useful than Granger.

Better post up player, sure, but Bosh is a great pick&roll defender and much better shooter, while Gasol is one of the worst defensive players in the league nowadays..Pau is like 34, too, he's not in his prime anymore:lol...

Also, Spoelstra doesn't use Bosh as a creator, he rarely draws a play for him, why would that change with old Gasol?..

Bosh could be better on other teams if he were more of a creator, but the ball is going to go through Wade and Lebron who are perimeter players. I'd rather have a guy I can at least dump the ball to in the post to create off of than a 3rd high priced perimeter player. Bosh's defense is ok, but he got torched by the Spurs. Gasol would too, but why not get torched at half the price on D.
