DALLAS -- Point guard Raymond Felton admits he played poorly for the New York Knicks last season and looks forward to proving he still can play "as an elite point guard" with the Dallas Mavericks.

"Just to show everybody that I've still got it, I still can play," Felton said on a conference call with Dallas reporters. "I still can play the game at this level. I still play as an elite point guard at this level. That's just all.

"When you come off a season like I had last year, there's always a point where you've got to prove yourself coming back the next season. And trust me, I look forward to it."

I don't think Felton is great even when playing well, but he will likely play much better for Dallas than he did for NY. RC might hate him though :lol

RC absolutely hates him, I have zero doubt. This is a guy that's going to think he's too good after making a couple of shots and take shots away from Monta and Dirk.

I still think the Mavs plan to package him and send him somewhere...

Didn't Rick hate Darren Collison too? :lol I'm with ElNono, I see the Mavs trading him.

If PG is an abbreviation for piggy, he has all the right to say that.

Dallas level? Compared to Devin Harris... maybe.

Was he implying he was at point elite in this league? When was that?

He had been a good starter for a few years with CHA, but he was essentially putting up Muggsy Bogues numbers. That's not elite.

Still got it? I never really noticed if you had it or not, in fact I never really noticed you all. You were too busy being a Elite I guess LOL.

Oh I get it, he has a mental disorder.

When Felton has a few bad games and gets stuck to the bench, his meltdown will be glorious.

Whataburgers across the metroplex celebrated the trade.

In all seriouslness, if I'm RC and Cubes I'd just say two words to him: "prove it."

I really hope Dallas won't rely on this fatty to run the system tbh. Wasting Dirk's final years.

Dirk has nobody to blame but himself. He should have went after Cuban with a hammer & a tong. Instead, he laid down & then rolled over. I've no sympathy for him.

Nah Dale, it was your Lakers who laid down and rolled over Dirk and Daddy Tyson.
