View Full Version : Terrance West Cleveland Browns

Like so many other NFL running backs this guy came out of a small school....Towson (Dave Meggett), there he was a monster. At 5-10 225 pounds he's a load, a fast, quick and agile one. I do expect him to beat out Ben Tate before the season is over. So when they start talking about him, you heard him mentioned here first.
The Browns have had a lot of quality backs going way back to the great Marion Mottley, I think they now have another one.

The dumb fuck did bring up an interesting point..."The Obscure NFL Player".
How about Kurt Warner as the perfect example of a guy who was totally obscure to everyone.
Today it's really hard for any player to sneak by for all the obvious reasons. Look at the Bills Fred Jackson out of tiny Coe College. I have no idea where that is. How about Jets receiver Saalin Hakim out of Tarleton State? While he's not "obscure" anymore....Danny Woodhead...out of Chadron State.
Obviously dumb fuck is wrong ( as usual) about Terrance West, he wouldn't qualify as "obscure". He has been talked about a lot on other boards, he is no mystery. Obviously the dumb fuck has never heard of him.
Obscure...hahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

HOFers
Marion Mottley
Jim Brown
Leroy Kelly
(Bobby Mitchell.... was the running back to Browns fullback, he was amazing..but..got in the HOF as a Redskins receiver)
now add 1000 yarders
Greg Pruitt

I doubt few ..."here'...had ever heard of Terrence West, I wanted to introduce him. He has all the tools to be a productive NFL back.

After seeing C.J.Spiller go 102 yards on a KO return it got me thinking about starting running back who have returned KO/punts for NFL td's.
Keep in mind...starters.
Gale Sayers was the best, he returned 6 KO and 2 punts. Yep..8..times he scored on kicks.
Nobody really comes close to that. So those who did score at least once.
O.J.Simpson
Brian Westbrook
Herschel Walker
Terry Metcalf and his son Eric
Bobby Mitchell
Leroy Kelly
Floyd Little
Keith Lincoln a fullback

What seperates Devin Hester from eveyone else? It's his vision. He has that color thing down. As a kick returner you run to where the opposing color isn't. Yep, instincts, something the great runners all have. If have to think/plot....too late, so ya simply react, he has that down better than anyone else.
Ask any great runner about how he did that and he'll..."ya got me I have no idea".

Jim Brown average 100 yards a game for his 9 year career. He averaged over 5 yards a carry despite the fact defenses were geared to stop him. He was 6-2 230 pounds with 4.5 speed and a unique blend of size/speed/agility. Keep in mind back then defensive linemen were 240-260 pounds. And we had white cornerbacks.
While Brown was in Cleveland they had a cat out of Morgan State named Leroy Kelly returning punts. When Brown retired in stepped that punt returnier, all he did was take off from where Brown had been, he just did it a little differently. Like Brown he is in the Hall of Fame.

More changes coming?: Terrance West’s fumble returned for a touchdown in the Buffalo game still was a sore point with Pettine. He admitted that coaches will discuss giving No. 3 back Glenn Winston some reps with the regular offense.
“That’s something we’ll look at,” Pettine said. “Because we need to pride ourselves on not turning the ball over. Ball security is a priority for our running backs. West lately has been very careless with the football. (Isaiah Crowell has) improved since his issues earlier in the year. He’s much more conscience of it. As I said yesterday … giving up the ball like that is inexcusable.”

Oh ok, a few people here knew of him at draft time.
Now a lot of people know of him because he's got the Curse on him.

So who were the top 10 Browns backs Avante? I know you'd know.
Here ya go shorty.
1.Jim Brown Syracuse
2.Marion Mottley Reno
3.Leroy Kelly Morgan State
4.Mike Pruitt Purdue
5.Greg Pruitt Oklahoma
6.Kevin Mack Clemson
7.Ernest Byner East Carolina
8.Bobby Mitchell Illinois******
9.Peyton Hillis Arkansas
10.Rueben Droughns Oregon
****** he was the halfback to Jim Browns fullback, he was actually faster and more elusive than Brown, a legit track star while at Illinois. He averaged over 5 yards a carry as a Brown. Then he was traded to Washington where he became a HOF receiver.

I think this was a decent call by Avante. West turned out to be a 1000 yard rusher.

With Tate hurt, check out Isaiah Crowell, he's out of one of those HBCU schools, a slasher.
Another good call
