I'm not up to speed on their situation. That would be pretty scary IMO.

Yes, if done properly in the next 48 hours I think;

yeah, despite the new offer sheet, his cap hold is still tiny, so once they offload lin they can sign Bosh first, then match parsons. the cap hold system is meant to deter this, but Parsons' cap hold is based on his previous salary, so it wont stop them in this case

If they don't then it's pure folly. Does not advance them nary a bit unless they both come aboard.

Sign em both, hell trade for Love and Durant while you're at it.

Won't do shit to help them win a title:

They have to make every step in order.

1. Clear cap space if needed.
2. Sign Bosh (his salary can't force Houston over the cap)
3. Re-sign Parsons

They can't go over the cap by signing a new free agent. But they can go over the cap by re-signing a restricted free agent like Parsons.

But, it won't hurt. And if it doesn't hurt anything is possible. Hell, Ellis Inc., whipped your ass, built you a reading room and you went in there. That's living proof anything is possible.

Bosh needs to agree before Sunday. if so, they can still match Dallas' offer sheet.

They have to salary dump almost everyone on their roster besides Howard and Harden, but the math is possible.

that plus the fact it exists the possibility Heat without Lebron propose a higher deal to Bosh adding a fifth year

That would be hilarious. Houston guts their roster and watches Bosh goes back to Miami.

HOU's starting line up will be stacked, but unreal what they have to do. They will have to gut their roster (outside of their best 3 guys Parsons/Harden/Dwight). Risky, but damn what a starting line up.

However, if MIA wants to do a S&T it makes it a little easier for HOU to sign some players (although the apron will be in affect).

IMO, they should send Lin/Asik+picks to MIA for Bosh. That would make things a bit easier.

they have parsons' bird rights, so they can go over the cap to match his offer sheet, so as long as they clear enough cap room to sign bosh first, they can have both.

It'll be a hit or miss tbh. Mchale could very well drive the starters to the ground though.

Fans might compare them to the 2008 Boston Celtics, but they had some cold blooded mfers in Powe, Posey and Cassell. They also had great role players in Rondo, Perkins & House.

Heat with Wade maybe willing to resign for less, could very much offer a max to Bosh and go after Melo and build a solid roster especially in the east context. That's a strong possibility imo.

If that is true, hat's off to Bosh. You as a Rocket fan should be in love with Bosh if he takes a pay cut (which if you only move Lin/Asik, HOU only has 16M to offer him vs 20+) because that will allow HOU to have somewhat of a bench.

DPG21920

You can always make it a 3 team or 4 team deal (Asik to Hornets, Lin to LA, Bosh to HOU, picks + whatever to MIA)

DPG21920
07-11-2014, 01:16 PM
MIA might make a massive offer to Bosh to keep him so that is something to watch. But again, if Bosh decides to take what is left after just moving Asik/Lin that would be so damn big for HOU.

If he takes max, HOU will be gutted outside of top 5. If Bosh takes less, they get to keep a lot of decent players.

07-11-2014, 01:17 PM
Asik to the pelicans isn't finalized yet. Pelicans are considering waiving one of their players through the "stretch provision" (or something) to get it done fast.

Somebody will take Lin off their hands. IMO hopefully LA. Those two fan bases deserve each other.

It's not even close to finalized. A third team is gonna have to be involved to make it happen.

Lakers should swoop in like Thread said I would take Asik and Lin but we cant offer picks. Both are on short deals. and can be moved again if need be. But we cant offer picks like NO can ... except Clarkson, maybe.

DPG21920

So that's my point. With it not being finalized (and no commitment from Bosh) things can change. If HOU gets a true commitment from Bosh, MIA may want to do a S&T. They may want Lin/Asik's expiring deals plus picks. That would mean HOU has to renege on Hornets.

If MIA just wants draft picks, then they can make it a 4 team deal where Lin goes to LA, Asik to Hornets, picks to MIA and Bosh to HOU. Lot's of options and S&T is a viable option (until HOU finalizes and sends of paperwork on Lin/Asik deals).

What is taking Bosh so long :lol? I guess MIA possibly coming in with a monster offer is the hold up?

But how was HOU able to trade Lin/Asik when they had to in order to pursue Bosh and come out net the same with regards to picks? Impressive.

Now the question is if Bosh comes to HOU: 1) Is there a S&T with MIA 2) If no S&T, will Bosh take less to keep some key pieces vs gutting the team?

It's not worth it to give up that NO pick, in my opinion. That may turn into a really good player. They already plan to dump Jones and Montejunas, so those would be decent assets going back to Miami, in addition to whatever the Pelicans are dumping.

I agree. If I'm HOU, I'd rather keep the pick. The key is Bosh & MIA. Bosh may want max and they would have to gut their team in order to do that. S&T may be the only option.

But outside of pick, I wouldn't want to do the S&T if I am HOU because you just gave up a pick to LA (assuming MIA doesn't ask for Lin and Asik like in this hypothetical), but most importantly, the apron comes into play for HOU is they S&T.

That means they have 70M with Bosh/Harden/Dwight/Parsons and have to fill out their roster with only 10M.

Hopefully Bosh stays in Miami and Houston matches Parsons. Even then a roster of Bosh/Howard/Harden/Parsons + trash doesn't worry me as a Spurs fan; they were so dangerous this past year due to all the shooting they had around Howard and Harden plus Asik/Lin occasionally.

If I am understanding this tweet, Bosh is a damn saint tbh and Rocket fan should love him.

1) Sounds like Bosh agrees to sign w/ HOU

2) Sounds like he's just taking what money is left from moving Lin/Asik (and maybe waiving some non-guaranteed deals) instead of asking for max.

That allows HOU to keep assets (pick from NO AND players to have a bench). Huge if true.

He probably doesn't want to leave Miami for a gutted team. But it's still needs to be quite a paycut to really make a difference.

Bosh on Houston with their current team intact sans Asik and Lin is definitely worrisome. Thankfully McFail is their coach, otherwise they'd be favorites.

Well even if it's just 16M (which comes from moving Lin/Asik on top of renouncing Garcia, Hamilton & Daniels then waiving Casspi, Beverly, Covington and Powell - per Larry Coon). That at least allows them to get the Howard/Bosh/Harden/Parson's core while retaining Jones & Montejunas. Not a huge difference but some extra bodies. Any more would require more concessions from Bosh.
