The Grizzlies have been trying to get Carter for years. They tried to get him in 2004, but the Logo didn't want to give up Battier and Miller and Raptors settled for a crappy deal to the Nets.

The Grizzlies tried to get Carter or Marion when they were trading Rudy Gay to Toronto and they were going to send Calderon to Dallas, but Dallas said no so the Grizzlies had to settle for Tayshaun Prince.

After all these years of trying Carter is finally a Grizzlies. I just hope this means that Tayshaun's days of getting playing time on the Grizzlies is over.
