Yeah I really wanted him to the Spurs. That would have sealed the deal on the back to back.

Still feel like Spurs will get there anyway but would have been alot easier with the spaniard. Oh well.

Still up in the air IMHO.... If he comes to Spurs, he would actually have a great chance to play with his brother after Duncan retires.

Spurs are set either way this plays out. He goes out East and fights the Cavs and Indiana and maybe meet a tough Western Conference opponent in the finals (Spurs, OKC, Clippers), or he comes to the Spurs and sits pretty for a good chance to ring the bell.

I don't mind him going East... I just don't see how they can S&T with the Bulls unless they sucker up some GM from a third team to take on Nash's contract...

He couldn't win a single playoff game without Kobe holding his fuckin' hand. Now he has a soft seat there with you and he needs to go to Chicago. See, now you know what's it like dealing with this squirrely bastard.

not only stupid organizations but underhanded deals, like what brought MVPau to the Lakers in the first place.

Lakers have to pay $15 million for Lin in his last year of his contract but since it was a backloaded contract to begin with, Lin only counts for 8.3 million against the cap.

Kobe would light the fire and it would go out. Kobe would relight the fire and it would go out. I'm sick of babysitting that idiot. He's an aristocratic type who thinks his shit don't stink. He's not even American and thinks like that. His brother is the same way. GIGO.

He sabotaged Dantoni because Dantoni wasn't Phil. It was a cowardly act by a confirmed coward.

BS. He was never given a fair shake. Pau took off after him and instead of Kobe acting like somebody he sided Gasol because he owed Gasol and because there was nothing at stake not to sell Dantoni down the river.

BS. He wanted Pau shooting 3 pointers and running SSOL up and down the court...

The roster didn't match the gameplan, and on that point, you can't blame either, IMO.

Yeah. They probably figure they're out of the Melo sweepstakes and Pau is the next best thing.

Hope that's the case, since I don't want the Lakers helped out by someone taking on Nash.

He quit on Dantoni. And because Kobe didn't have a horse in the race he didn't do right by Dantoni. I ain't no fool. I saw what went on. Gasol made an example out of Dantoni. Whatever frustrations he'd harbored during the Phil years were taken on out on Dantoni in spades. Fuck him.

BS. D'Antoni cried a river to the media and then benched him. He wanted Pau to be Amare, because Mike doesn't know how to play any other way.

The reality is that Pau was a bad fit for that system. They couldn't unload him because of the mammoth contract.

Fact is Pau played pretty well under Mike Brown, and the Potato Head season was miles more successful than Mike D's....

The sticker is Nash. If it's only the MLE, Pau's preferred destination is the Spurs, so if the Bulls can't find a way to pay him more, he's ours.

Too bad for Spurs, he would have been great here.

Chicago will be better with Pau if Thibs wasn't such a terrible offensive mind with a pamphlet for a playbook. Bulls still need Melo tbh.

This trade fell through last night. Even this guy is calling this shit out. It's either the bulls amnesty Boozer, lose the MLE and BAE, and sign Gasol, or wait, trade Boozer in a 3 team trade days to get a trade exception for Lance Stephenson and still have the MLE and BAE.

First scenario would absolutely screw the Bulls over.

This was obvious even before D'antoni signed.

This was obvious even before D'antoni signed.

The point is Gasol sabotaged Dantoni because there was nothing to lose and he was shrewd enough to see that. He could read the tea leaves, could see the upheaval and anarchy all about him. Instead of taking that opportunity to assist in quelling an organization in such turmoil he instead viciously further undermined the determination of the coaching staff. And Kobe, he knew the score, but, he as well figured that backing Gasol would be more fruitful than backing Dantoni and so as Gasol poked & prodded Dantoni---Kobe turned his back on him and left him to Gasol.

& if Dantoni could state the once upon a time I'm confident he would confirm my assertions.

Gasol is a small man, near infinitesimal.

Best thing is to eat Nash's contract. Maybe they'll get someone useful for him at the deadline? Otherwise, eat that shiiiiiiiiiiit. :lol

Here's some food for thought from the ESPN Boards:::

John Robert Perry (https://www.facebook.com/LibMat) · Top Commenter · Works at Disney (https://www.facebook.com/Disney)Anthony Demetrius Allen - It's a catch 22. If they HAD traded Pau, they might have several players on the roster in his place. For example, when the Chirs Paul deal fell through, they could have just said, fine - Houston, we'll do Pau for the parts you were going to give to New Orleans - Dragic (now a very good PG bing paid less than Lin), Scola (not a star but a reasonably good PF), their 1st round pick (which I think became Jeremy Lamb), and Kevin Martin... and they turned Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb into James Harden.

So when Howard came to town, instead of playing with broken down Nash, he'd have been playing with young healthy Dragic, Kobe, James Harden, an Luis Scola. And without Nash, they probably wouldn't have brought in D'Antoni... and Houston wouldn't have had Harden to LURE Howard to Houston, so he might have stayed in LA.

Pau's value basically declined year by year after that. In the last trade offer, Cleveland was offering Bynum's non guaranteed contract. That's it. No draft pick (protected or otherwise), just a salary dump. If Cleveland would have been willing to give up even two second round picks (like they gave up to get Deng), Pau might have been enough to get them into the playoffs.
