Worst city I've ever been to is Denver. Not because the people, but because the fucking altitude is BRUTAL and you have to work for every breath.

Worst skiing trip, ever. Sick the whole fucking time. And I couldn't even sleep because I had to focus on just working to breathe. Seriously. It's bad.

I don't recall anything like that when I skied Breckenridge.

Altitude sickness fucking sucks. I got a really severe form of it (HAPE) backpacking and sleeping at about 11,000 feet a few years ago. I have backpacked fine at that altitude before, but this one time I couldn't breathe lying down after the third day, and I had to pack my shit up and get down to 8000 feet ASAP one night, only able to walk 100 feet at a time before being completely gassed. Even more fun carrying 50 pounds of gear on my back. :lol

Haha, I remember having the same experience in Santa Fe. :lol

You wanna really get shitfaced though, hike Mount San Jacinto near Palm Springs to it's 10,840 foot summit, then come down and have a couple of beers at the tram station at 8500 feet. Good times.

If we're talking places to live, right now I wouldn't want to live anywhere else but San Antonio.

Low cost of living, close enough to beach to drive, hill country scenery is decent, shopping, restaurants, concerts, the greatest basketball team on the planet for dirt cheap........... not sure what more there is one could want.

No because I wasn't there long enough to see many people at all. Just passing thru and at least from what you can see from the highway, it's the worst of the cities on the list :). I don't know why San Antonio is on that list. And I love Cleveland!

Maybe you should spend some time IN the city before passing judgement. Would you be surprised to know this house is in Detroit? Bet you'd like to edit your post about now.

Chicago does not deserve to be on that list…The hub to the West…Great food, night life, pristine suburbs…Incredible pizza, Chicago dogs, Chicago tamales, phenomenal Mexican food, (Not the sour cream mush served in LA), a huge Hispanic influence…My cousins home is in a neighborhood with no fences…Huge green backyards that connect to one another…Kids can play football & mark off a 100 yard field…

Miami is very rude and superficial to the outside observer, tbh. They don't take kindly to fat, ugly, or poor people. It's not like other cities where you can just let yourself go and be unmotivated and unambitious.

I always thought asthmatics did well at altitude, since the air is almost always dry. Don't humid ass places like Texas fuck with them more?

cantthinkofanything
07-15-2014, 09:39 AM
Funny that no one really gets the question. Many are naming cities they've never been to. The worst major city in the USA isn't some big crime ridden metropolis. Not some racially divided war zone. No...the worst city in the USA is going to be different for every single person. If 30 people honestly answer this question, they there will be 30 different answers.

The worst city might be that place where your first dog ran away. Or perhaps where your father left and never came back. Maybe it's that city where Father Donovan touched you in your special parts. Or maybe it's something lighter...maybe it's where your first love broke up with you.

So...you see, the worst city in the USA isn't something you'll find leading the way in some poll or crime statistic. No...the worst city in the USA is something darker and deeper that each person has to look inside themselves to truly answer.

Me? For me the worst city in the USA is where I lost my toenail clippings and was later offered money for them. That city is Detroit.

This is pretty true from what I've seen the past couple years. I've always had the mindset that I hated Houston, mostly because I hated going there as a kid and always thought it was ugly (which it mostly is). Lately though, I've been travelling down there for work every month, and there are some areas that are just plain badass. The city has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment, dining, and arts.
