Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs has been retweeting him, along with a couple of other guys I recognize.

Obviously this guy isn't Woj, but he doesn't appear to be fucking tspence either. Marc Stein and Jeff McDonald both follow him. Take it for what you will.

Sorry but :td.

I'm honestly fine with Bonner...he has his uses on this team (see series vs. OKC). It just sucks how he'll take up a roster spot. I legitimately want Baynes back, so this basically means we have the exact same roster as last year but with Kyle Anderson. Obviously that's fine, but I was kind of hoping we'd use our MLE on someone. Oh well.

Yeah, for the vet minimum that's not a bad deal. Still, it's more about the lack of roster spots than anything else for me.

It seems Bonner was the backup plan for if we missed on Gasol.

Bonner is a good regular-season minutes eater. And although he didn't play a whole lot in the playoffs he was useful when he came in. Good signing.

Honestly, I'd be COMPLETELY cool with this if we somehow got rid of Ayres. Get rid of Ayres (don't care how...I'll take a 2017 2nd round pick at this point), re-sign Baynes, and then try to get one other guy who can contribute this year.

I know we just won the title, but the West is only getting tougher. I'd really like to get at least one other guy that can help us improve.

I will never understand everyone's issue with bonner, especially the last 2 years where he's barely played. He's a great end of bench player to use in certain matchups and is an extremely underrated defender when put on the right guys. He has given Randolph problems in the past and even Blake in some games if I remember correctly. I'm happy to have him back

Bonner is a great pawn for Pop to have at his disposal.....I can stomach another season of Bill Schoening saying "splash landing for the red rocket". He knows his role, spaces the floor, has corporate knowledge, seems to be well-enough liked by the team and can be a bit aggressive sometimes. 1.45 mil. No brainer.

Either him or Ayres will be in the rotation next year.. That's the problem (not even bringing up the 4.5M/yr signing)

I've had my many issues with Bonner. We all know what his issues are, but It was never really his fault. He is who he is. He wasn't giving himself all thoses minutes. It was just frustrating watching the spurs flame out year after year wasting Duncan's years with Bonner as his sidekick.

But at this point, I don't mind him on the team. His role, as it should, has been reduced to situational. I still feel he has that one big playoff game we've all been waiting 7 years for in him.

I'm so sick of this BS. Bonner, Daye, Ayers, Baynes all fucking SUCK. They're all completely useless, and we've re-signed all of them (Baynes will eventually accept the Spurs qualifying offer, and were stuck with Ayers).

We had a chance to release Daye, Bonner, and Baynes and we kept all 3 of them. And don't tell me we wouldn't have been a better team with Cotton, Thomas, and Bertans/LJC on the roster instead.

And don't act like RC is perfect and can't be questioned either. We were god-awful from 2008-2011 thanks to his decisions to stay with the same outdated cast of role players. And were doing it again. Bonner, Daye, and Baynes didn't step on the court during the Finals or much at all during the playoffs. They will never contribute to the spurs championship aspirations in the future. We should have brought in 3 much younger, more talented players who can actually contribute to this team in the playoffs.

And screw summer league now. The Spurs roster is full once Baynes re-signs. Anderson is the only one to watch now. Goodbye Cotton, Thomas, Jamychal Green, and all the other prospects in the summer league that showed promise. We passed on all of you for fucking Matt Bonner, Austin Daye, and Aron Baynes. I hope you're happy RC and Pop. You better win next year. Or else.

For the minimum, he plays a nice niche role and his lack of athleticism is somewhat offset by his combination of perimeter shooting and size.

perhaps even more importantly, he knows his role in Pop's system inside and out.

People forget how critical Pop's adjustment to put Bonner in the starting lineup in the OKC series was. That drew Serge Ibaka away from the paint, and really opened the floor up for our guards.

It can be said, with only a tad bit of exaggeration, that the Spurs would not have won 5 without Matt Bonner.
