Seriously who would you give it to on that German team? Imo it would be an ok choice :wakeup.

Muller could make a case I guess but I'd go with Neuer.

07-13-2014, 04:55 PM
Arjen Robben deserves it IMO.

Arjen Robben deserves it IMO.

If Sneijder didn't get it while going to the WC Finals and winning the champions league, than Robben only going to the semi is definitely not enough no matter what he does in the upcoming season...

Wow James and Robben robbed... Messi is the best player in the world but wasn't the best player in this cup tbh

apalisoc_9

Robben was the best player this tournament...That should have been a no brainer.

Robben, James, Müller, Neuer

and they give it to Messi! :lmao

For his awesome knockout stage?

Messi winning that shit :lmao

Pathetic.

In Argentina you can find at least 3 players that played better than him.

Missi didn't deserve it, tbh... but Robben didn't either... he scored as many goals as Missi in the knockout stage...

You mean diving like hell... sorry, but the fact he was the only guy showing up because Van Persie sucked doesn't win you an award...

James was the best player in this tournament, tbh

Forlan 2010 wasn't that good but it was better than Messi 2014. It was either James or Robben tbh.

I'm sure FIFA was trolling Messi. Does anyone here think Messi wanted that trophy? They made him suffer a little bit more making him go up there and take that piece of junk.

robben was clearly robbed

that netherland was basically a 1man team, rvp = tosb continue to get minutes even thos he only scored 1 goal in the first game and couldnt do shit, clown was on the ground just to make up the n umbers

was hoping for a dutch vs german finals, wanted to see robben exposed the german t eam and if he did exposed them, clearly shows how much that bayern munich team is overrated with or without him

Guess they thought QF isn't far enough and he got scoring leader and probably newcomer honors (just as Müller in 2010) anyway.

There should be some golden whistle for the blindest ref of tournament. Not sure who it would be, but I know for sure that the candidate list would be very long.

The Gemini Method
07-14-2014, 12:36 PM
Thought it should've went to James--leading a team further than expected with Falcao out. Messi disappeared after the group stage and while he was still able to assist, a Golden Ball winner should be someone who was consistent or beyond consistent for their whole run. Muller would've been an ok choice...

Muller didn't do much after the group stage either tbh. Scored a gimme against Brazil. Neuer really deserved it.

True. Neuer got the GG and the only trophy that matters--James is my choice. Luis Suarez should've gotten the Golden Grill for best chomp though.

robben didn't really have a great cup. he scored 2 goals in the first group game (in what was a 5-1 blowout) and only 1 the rest of the way, and if he's not scoring he's generally useless, since he's not exactly a willing passer. when he gets the ball it typical ends up in a shot or change of possession

He touches the ball on every Netherlands attack and how many penalties did he draw?

20+ Years from now I will remember this as Robben's World Cup
