They're this german band who play metal music but incorporate some good songwriting into it, keeping a general medeival/adventure theme....they write a bunch of their songs about the Middle Earth and knights and shit like that
it sounds gay in type, but check them out you may be surprised....i saw them in The Backroom here in Austin back on Thanksgiving of 2002 and they fucking ROCKED!!~~

And check out a closely related band in the same "genre"--Demons and Wizards
