I agree but as a team the Spurs were superior. Seattle's D was so dominant that it masked how average their offense was.

Stuart Scott's speech was our generation's Jimmy V speech tbh. Incredible stuff.

Debated whether to mention this but I saw Stuart Scott in SA at a big table full of ESPN folks (P.J. Carlisimo, etc.) the Saturday night before the Spurs won the title.

It was at Rossinis on Military Highway.

P.J. probably knew about the place and got them all to come.

Stuart looked quite thin and I said nothing to any of them.

I felt like giving him a thumbs up but I didn't. Don't like to bother celebs.

Hope he gets through all this.

Why didn't they show it?

They don't have time to show all the awards (mostly due to the length of Stuart Scott and Michael Sam's segments) and the show only being 2 hours, and they decided to cut these two, along with a couple others, from the show. It's the spurs so not surprised.

If the Spurs had won, TD and the rest of the crew would likely have been there.

The fact that Bonner and Green were the Spurs' reps was a bad sign.

So. Was the ESPY show turned into a Fag-a-Thon? That's too bad.

When your headquarters is in Bristol Connecticut it shouldn't be a surprise. The Disney Company could push back on this, but that type of response went away years ago.

Here's a new commercial for Disneyland.

Announcer: "Hey, Michael Sam, you're an above average college football player that just came out of the closet. How are you going to celebrate?"

MICHAEL SAM: "I'm going to Disneyland".... I'm surprised that hasn't actually happened yet.

Green was too good to show up imo. He probably begged to go though; I doubt they asked him to knowing they got jobbed out of the best team award and didn't even have their two won awards aired on tv. :lol

ESPN is salty the Spurs ended the Heat's run and broke them up.
