Don't know how long he'll put up with losses at a rate similar to last year.

Zero chance. He's come this far, no reason to tarnish his legacy now.

Something out of the ordinary would have to occur in order for that to take place. A confluence of events have occured that find him piloting a listless ship. He may be a sociopath, but, he isn't psychotic.

He'll soldier.

This is why Kirby will stay

He doesn't do that we're light 2 NBA Titles.

That is true. Very good point.

If my understanding of Kobe's "competitiveness" is true, He will snap at some point and ask the from office for a resolution, he did this in 2008, except this time the Lakers are in a bind with zero moves to offer. If he stays a good soldier, he will tough this out and accept the worst (unlikely).

My guess is he asks for a way out.

But, in '08 the old man was asleep at the wheel. That is not the case this time. The kids are sitting in the driver seat sharing the wheel and they're still trying to make heads or tails of Cuban's CBA.

Kobe can count. He understands what befell us.

He'll exhaust the contract, then he'll choose whether to chase.

Good chance but unlikely it will even take place. No one is trading for his contract.

But this is on Kobe's watch. Duncan's spurs were fucking dead 7 years ago. Bury. 6 feet under.

Now?

im sitting high on FIVE and looking ahead to SIX.

he has to to prove he is healthy before there is a chance anyone would trade for him
also if he proves he is healthy someone might want to play with him

Kobe will complain in a cowards fashion. It will be a faint cry not loud enough to ruffle feathers but keep the fans voting. It's disgusting.

No. If Kobe was even remotely interested in being competitive at this point, he'd not have crippled the team with that silly ass contract.

Wouldn't say that. Joe Johnson was also considered unmovable, enter Billy King. Same with Arenas.

He'll just "get injured" so he won't affiliate himself with the losing tbh

It's February 15th, 2015. The Lakers enter the all-star break with a 22-33 record. Kobe is once again voted to start for the West, along with Rin.

In his media availability, Mike Trudell asks the obvious: "Kobe, your team has no chance of making the playoffs and close to no chance to keeping your 1st round pick. The season seems to be not just lost, but completely irrelevant like the Laker franchise has never experienced in their storied history. Other than chasing Jordan in total regular season points, what is your goal for the 2nd half of the season?"

Kobe's answer?

07-17-2014, 10:47 PM
No. If Kobe was even remotely interested in being competitive at this point, he'd not have crippled the team with that silly ass contract.

He will pass Jordan in scoring, that's his first goal. If healthy, he will hang on to try and catch Jabbar. It should be fairly pitiful to watch, in a pleasing sort of way. Because that's who he is.

Kobe has exactly what he wanted: lots of money and a terrible team that will allow him to jack up shots and move past Jordan and perhaps Malone and Kareem. Then the press can rave about how he's a 5 time champion and scored more than Jordan, etc, etc. Kobe knows he's not in the ring game now. So, he'll do what he did in the mid-2000's post Shaq, pre Gasol. Enhance his own rep by meaningless stat building. That is, if his body hold up....

I could see Phiilp getting the band back together if they're over .500 at the break by shipping Amare and eating the extra year on Kirby's deal.
