Who do you guys have as your 'toughest player' in NBA history? Answer it however which way you want.
For me it has to be the Mamba. Those freethrows after the achilles tear were as inspiring as Michael Sam winning the ESPY
LOL jk its Karl Malone, 18 seasons with the Jazz and he only missed 6 games :wow

Gotta be Channing Frye. Dude's heart tried to fuck him up, but he went to battle, came back healthy and played all 82 games last season.
Channing :cry

Before his flopping days, Pierce was also a one tough SOB. Stabbed 11 times and had a bottle smashed over his head. Needed lung surgery to repair damage. Dude came back 40 days later for the season opener.
:lolAny other players would probably miss at least half the season.

Jordan. He put up ridiculous numbers and wins when playing injured, playing with the flu, etc. His toughness was almost psychopathic.

Until J.R Reid elbowed him in the teeth, and Green walked away like the virgin beta cuck phaggot that he is to pick up the missing teeth
Depends on what you mean by "tough". If you mean bad ass, there are a few. If you mean hard ass, there are a few. If you mean pine knot sealed in amber, there are a few.

Kobe for the Achilles-free throws, Nash putting a broken nose back in place, and Manu going hard with either a broken arm or nose.

You could also add Caron Butler for putting his kneecap back into place after suffering a torn patella tendon in his right knee and then walking off the court.

What do you mean by toughest? Malone may not missed many games but mentally was weak as fuck while a guy like Manu might be injury prone but his mental aspect and style of play is very tough.

Tougher than Malone for sure. Malone relied more on his body to send other players to hospital tbh.

The next thing you know, there were three Algerian players on him. Everyone was engaged in combat save me, if you can believe it. And lo and ehold... Ime! He was taking people out like in Mortal Kombat. Finish him! Incredible. I was so out of it as I had five guys I was fighting (oh yeah, the crowd jumped in as the fight spilled over to the court of the championship game of Senegal and Angola).
In the middle of the whole thing I heard Ime, literally in mid-swing of another opponent say,"Watch back, Gabe" and he calmly, I mean calmly, smeared a guy who, as I turned to see his warning, jumped from the stands with a chair to probably kill me or knock me out to where the crowd would have. I mean, Ime caught the guy in mid air with a fist and calmly continued his dispacthing of oncoming people. He and other guys (yes, me too) were whoopin' so many people the crowd backed up. True to the letter! But Ime had the most notches by far.

MVPierce imho, dude came back in a wheelchair during the 08' finals and led his team to a championship, not to say dude once suffered 11 stabbing wounds yet only missed half the season, while "God" quit the season midway with a feigned injury after playing only 6 games :lol

Malone- Just a mean player...Dick Butkus mean...
Shaq- Got hammered every play & brushed it off...
Kobe- Stubborn tough...
Wilt- Gentle Giant
If he threw his weight around like Shaq & Malone he would have been banned

Who ever put MJ as the toughest is a retard. You don't take 2 years off and play baseball and love golf is not tough in my book.
Regardless, I'd go with Buck Williams, Oakley, Iverson, Ron Ron, Laimbeer, Rodman, and AC Green. Lol
Sportcamper
07-24-2014, 12:14 PM
I don't belive that Rodman should be on the list...When players like Malone kicked his ass Rodman would just quit...He would do something dirty to get kicked out of the game...

The most important criteria for a correct answer is that the players in question must be:
A) White American
B) Played in the early 90s or prior
C) Both
Many of these players were "tough" to negate their lack of talent/athleticism, tbh..their "hustle" and "grittiness" gave them value, or at least the perception of being valuable, despite not having skills and athleticism..

Just because the NBA allowed players to clothesline on defense and play "tougher" in the 80's and early 90's does not constitute toughness of those that took advantage of that rules set, or rather lack thereof.
