Um, the media didn't ignore it:

It was the Spurs' 12th win by 15 or more points, most ever in a postseason.

7. The Spurs won 12 games by at least 15 points during the 2014 NBA Playoffs. That’s the most of any team ever.

In 12 of its 16 playoff wins, the Spurs won by 15 points or more. Not surprisingly, that’s the most in NBA history.

The better team defeated the game’s best player, and it set a playoff record with 12 games decided by at least 15 points, including all four wins in this series.

San Antonio outscored opponents by 214 points in these playoffs, and their 12 wins by 15 points or more is a record.

It also was in keeping with their dominating 2014 playoff identity. In 12 of their 16 playoff wins, the Spurs won by 15 points or more, the most in NBA history.

One of the best of all time. Remember, the Spurs won 12 of their last 13 wins by 15+ points, starting with the clutch game 7 vs Dallas, then dismantled 3 of the best NBA reams in the tough western conference. Spurs also had best regular season record as well, despite playing all starters < 30 minutes per game and most of the rotation players missing a significant number of games.

b/c the media promotes/wants white noise (gossip and controversy) to keep the sheeple stupid, ignorant and dumbed down so the elite can do their thing out of the public eye. E.g., issues re: queers/fags, race (illegal aliens breaking the law), false dichotomies of democrats vs. republicans, left vs. right, liberal vs. conservatives, etc., etc. Sports is one big white noise while Texas and the uSA become a police state. "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain...do not discuss politics or religion b/c you might actually LEARN something."

Exactly. I couldn't give any less fucks about how much we're talked about on ESPN. We just got to see one of the most awesome playoff runs in NBA history and witness them win their 5th title in 15 years...yet people here still complain about "the media not giving us enough credit". I just can't fathom why it matters so much to some people.

Newsflash: we're based in San Antonio. Not LA, NY, Boston, Chicago, etc. We're never going to get a ton of media attention unless we land some bonafide superstar like LeBron or Durant. Just accept it and stop bitching about it. I'd rather win titles than get talked about 24/7 for being a trainwreck like the Knicks.

I was just thinking about this as I watched Game 2 against OKC again. Even without Ibaka, OKC still has a stacked roster, but they got blown out by 35 points. 35 points! That's just insane for a Western Conference Finals game. You might expect that level of blowout by a top team (like a reigning champion) against the Bucks during the regular season. But not in the WCFs. And games 1 and 5 were also blowouts.

How many champions regularly won games by 20+ points during their run? I know the 2001 Lakers had a historic differential of +13 or so, but did they also have a ton of 20+ point blowouts? It was so long ago I can't remember (and am too lazy to check).

I remember at the end of game 5 I was pissed because we were up 17 and Miami had the ball and instead of showing the game they showed Lebron congratulating the Spurs on the sidelines. If the Heat had hit a 3 there, we wouldn't have won 12 games by 15+ in the playoffs. Luckily, the Heat just dribbled it out, and we got 12th our 15+ point win in the playoffs.

Also something worth noting: All 4 of our wins in the Finals were by 15+ points. And that's over a team with the best player in the world going for a 3-peat. The 2014 Spurs should be talked about as one of the best teams of all time, yet ESPN and the media hasn't even brought that up once. That's why Spurs fans fee the Spurs arel disrespected, because if the Lakers had slaughtered the Heat like we did, ESPN would build statues of their starters in Bristol.

The Spurs point differential +214 is the highest ever for a playoff run (It was +205 for 1987 LAL).
