Not that I really care, but this is still funny to bring up

"I just think what Michael Jordan has done for the game has to be recognized some way soon," said James, who has worn 23 since he was a high school sophomore. "There would be no LeBron James, no Kobe Bryant (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=110), no Dwyane Wade (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1987) if there wasn't Michael Jordan first.

"He can't get the logo [Hall of Famer Jerry West's silhouette adorns the NBA's logo], and if he can't, something has to be done. I feel like no NBA player should wear 23. I'm starting a petition, and I've got to get everyone in the NBA to sign it. Now, if I'm not going to wear No. 23, then nobody else should be able to wear it."

"If you see 23, you think about Michael Jordan," James said, according to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer. "You see game-winning shots, you think about Michael Jordan; you see guys fly through the air, you think about Michael Jordan; you see fly kicks, you think about Michael Jordan. He did so much, it has to be recognized, and not just by putting him in the Hall of Fame."

Jordan's first 3 Peat was absolutely remarkable. His second 3 peat where he cemented his legacy and greatness was mostly manufactured and hyped by the NBA and media who were craving for Superstar appeal after 2 uninteresting and dull NBA Finals by the Rockets. I mean, the "Flu game", the "Last Shot" these are just some of the most overrated playoff moments to immortalize Jordan. It's about as bad as Jordan's "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo :lol

I grew up exactly in that era and in retrospect, I see how awful the league was back then. I still give props to MJ and but his teammates particularly Pippen and Rodman we're seriously underrated by the media and fans. This was before advance statistics and metrics were scrutinized. Game after game, if you read the newspapers or watch ESPN it's always about how Jordan scored 36, 45, 50 completely ignoring some of the most important aspects and elements of the game.

Fwiw, Jordan would mentally decapitate Lebron and he's worlds above Lebron there, but as an athlete, skill and value wise, Lebron's better than Mike.

I agree, there are 2 things Im confident of. 1) MJ is so much more mentally stronger than Lebron its not even funny. He would toy with Lebron and make him cry. 2) MJ would not have won as many in this era, the hardest teams he ever faced were Reggie Millers Pacers, Pistons who spanked him almost every year, Malones Jazz, and that TOSB team with Magic.

MJ would have a cakewalk to the Finals every year in the East if he played in this era tbh he most certainly would have won a lot of rings. He may have been even better than he was given that the rules changed in 2006 to allow more offense and penalize defenses more

Yeah. Any of the dynasties post Jordan would kill the Bulls frontline (Lakers, Spurs). No doubt they take the Heat though.

Lebron could've been the perfect athlete, just beastly. But you can't easily overcome the mental part of the game, and it's one of his most glaring weakness which is why Jordan's throne is safe for at least another era.

Spurs of this year or Lakers of 3 peat years would have stopped those Bulls at least once or twice. I am not underestimating how great those Bulls teams were but theres way too many weapons on these Spurs or the 3peat Lakers.

I would love to have seen wtf MJ would have done against the 2008 Celtics defense or the 2004 pistons defense.

MJ reminds me of Anderson Silva in some ways, fucking incredible but in a weak era and we all know if he faced Jon Jones he'd lose 50% of the times even in his prime. Lakers or Spurs are like Jon Jones imo.

Not with Kirby on the team.... he'd try to turn it into a one-on-one contest against DK out of pure ego, ignoring Shaq (like he did in 2004) and preventing the Lakers from exploiting the one major advantage they'd have in that matchup, tbh....

This year's Spurs would have nailed DK to the tree of woe, though :lol

You specifically said the Spurs of THIS YEAR (as in, 2014) in your original post, now you're moving the goalposts to the significantly weaker Spurs teams of the Lakers' threepeat era :lol
