I just went back through Eastwood's movies. Hard to find anything that wasn't watchable. Only thing off the top of my mind is Bridges of Madison County.

No Glory? By far his defining moment...but then again, it might've been a secondary role. I still can't watch that movie and not get the feels when they go off on their final battle. Dem some brave niggras.

He was superb in Crimson Tide--I'll give that one too. Glory was his breakout moment and that sent him on his way. Flight was the accumulation of his skill to the pantheon of great actors.

Fuck that movie, I hated it so much. I can't watch boxing movies since every punch is something that would kill the other guy in real life. Every boxing movie makes Gatti-Ward 1 look like a bunch of faggy dancing.

Remove Glengarry Glen Ross in that case. It was more of a secondary role (more so than Godfather I) and Jack Lemmon and Alec Baldwin really owned that movie.

Wit. I assume. Philadelphia he was the gay w/ aids. On this board of weak wristed homophobes, that's a villainy asunder. Lady Killer he was the murderer but even as that you couldn't help saying aww Tommy Hanks! Road to Perdition is the same way. He plays this bad mobster guy but at the end your emotions counter with ah man he was a lot more easier to follow than Jude Law.

There's no doubt. But same with League of Their Own. Calling him a "villain" in that role is a stretch. The easy answer to your question is "no", he doesn't play the true villain.

Oh ok--I don't have any qualms with that choice. Though a sad story is that my ex gf was the nurse that tried to save Michael Clark Duncan's life and said that though they said they were trying to save him @ Cedars Sinai hospital, that he was already dead on arrival. Said he was such a large human that it took a group of people to move his body to the morgue.

I apologize here. I thought I'd referenced the post about Steven Guttenberg not Hanks, so keep that in mind.

They've been showing "The Bedroom Window" on the Cable of late and 30 years has improved this film. He underplays it and it sustains this film. Might give it a second look.

He also has a harrowing bit in "The Boys From Brazil"...though in that film he's his frenetic MO. Still it is a nice turn.
