A few years ago I found a CD at a yardsale, it's was Elvis's first recording session for Sun Studios in Memphis in 1954.
Most know about how he took tunes by Big Boy Crudup, Lonnie Johnson and Junior Parker and passed them off as his own. Confident that white folks weren't listening to race records. His...Hound Dog...which came a little later was an old Big Mama Thornton tune. None of those I mentioned saw a dime.
Anyway...
This tune has been totally forgotten as you hear it here for the first time. I think it's one of his very best.

I mentioned Lonnie Johnson,(first recorded in 1925) he is considered the greatest prewar blues guitarist there was, he's fantastic. He also had a great voice. Elvis stold this one from him. He did do a great job however.
