Manu can defend. I always had manu higher than parker.

Its unfair, Manu is taller...Of course he would win

They are both really skilled offensively. Manu has the edge defensively, however I believe that whoever got the ball first would wind up winning.

Manu would kill him, He could sag off Tony to negate his quickness and he has the height to bother Tony when shooting. Plus Manu can just run up and dunk it on Tony every time, we all saw what he did to Bosh.

Honestly, it would be a fantastic matchup. Parker is a better ball handler, and a better post-up player. He's just phenomenal around the basket (and he could drop a teardrop if manu sagged to far off). I think Manu has an edge due to shooting ability and size. Neither guy would be able to stop the other

Prime Manu was a beast and the better TEAM player.

but prime MVParker is just on another level in terms of 1-1 basketball. 2 7 footers could not stop TP. You think Manu would have a chance? :lmao

Manu is easier to neutralize as hes always been a bad midrange shooter

Tony would destroy Manu

Height is not important when you can shoot the midrange as well as run circles around the taller player. Speaking from experience here

Yo, hold up, have you ever even played basketball in your life? It is like you know nothing... There is a reason DRob can beat Duncan in one on one, he has 2 inches on him and some weight, 2 things Manu also has on Tony... Get real my nigga

Man is fast enough..Any guy he relies on a midrange game in a one on one setting is an idiot.

Well you still need lateral quickness and athleticism, but he would be hard to stop, if he gets in the post its a bucket every time at his height... Learn basketball, go play people at your local gym (unless you are too fat).

Lol, Tony would get fucking destroyed by Manu

Better question: who would win in a game of 3 on 3, prime Manu or prime Kirby? Both would have YMCA teammates.

I bet they played a lot of 1 on 1 in practice over the years. It would be a great question for someone to drop into the conversation while interviewing both of them.

Parker in '13 was pretty fuckin sick. People tend to forget just how good he was. A legitimate MVP candidate. His hamstring injury certainly bothered him in the Finals but he single handedly destroyed Conley and the Grizz.

I'd agree that in their primes, Manu would win but just because he's bigger, stronger and because quickness becomes somewhat negated in a half court game but as far as comparing Manu's best season to Tony's best season, they are pretty close.

who cares, they are both 1st ballot HOFers.

btw, one of this year's inductees is Sarunas Marciulionis, a player that Manu reminded me of. Both left handed, both with great Euro steps, and very hard to guard. Congrats to Sarunas.

height isn't as important if you know how to defend it. manu is only 3 inches taller than parker. do you feel kwame brown would beat ginobli one on one because he's 5 inches taller? i think manu destroys him because parker can't play defense worth shit. In a one on one game, he's not gonna have duncan at the rim to help him when manu blows past him.

Manu easily. wings are advantaged against short point guards in 1 on 1. they have the speed of the point guards, and yet taller than them. Point guards have no one to pass to in a 1v1, no centre to help them screen.
One obvious way you can tell that is during a fast break in a NBA game, if a point guard is the one pushing the ball against a taller wing defender, he may miss. But when a taller wing is pushing the ball on the fast break and the only defender is a small point guard, most of the time the point guard just stands there and don't even bother defending.

Parker would win, easy. We all saw what Manu looks like without Mills and Belinelli in 2013...

Manu isn't shit without good shooters around him. He isn't efficient by himself. Parker can shut down CP3, he can shut down Manu by himself :lol

2013 Parker would probably tear Manu's hammy tbh

niggas don't know how important height is in a game of 1 on 1 :lol

Height is important if there's like a 4-5 inch difference. Otherwise, no.

Manu would win simply because he can shoot 3's consistently and sometimes unconsciously. In a game of 1-on-1, if Manu can drain his 3's, he would win without Parker even scoring a point. Enough said.

The American olympic team couldnt stop Manu.

The best teams in the nba couldnt stop Parker.

Therefore it would be a neverending game on break point

Everyone tends to underrate Parker, but I think it'd be a lot closer than most would expect. I give Manu an edge just because of the height weight advantage.

dbreiden83080

In his prime Manu pretty easily IMO.. Taller, more athletic and a better shooter..

dbreiden83080
08-03-2014, 12:01 PM
This is just 1 on 1 obviously but it would not be that hard for Manu to guard Tony.. Back off and give him that mid range shot.. If he is nailing it and they are playing winners out Tony could win.. But Manu could post him up and drive on him much easier with his height and jumping edge. I don't think I have ever seen Manu actually post anyone up but I am sure he could figure it out.. :lol
