My S4 has has stuck pixel that won't go away (red dot).

Went to Rogers and they told me they would send it to Samsung for repair.

It would be without the phone for 5 weeks, and Rogers replacement phones are shit.

The Moto E unlocked is at $180 + taxes at Staples, but I can get a Nexus 4 unlocked in good condition on Kijiji at 180-200 bucks.

Decisions decisions...

resistanze imo

Sell S4 and get N5
Why

Do you mean I sell it with the red dot?

I can live with a Nexus phone as a backup, but fuck that shit S4 is much better :lol

Why did you get the S4 and not the Nexus 5?

Aside from the camera, the N5 is an upgrade in specs over the S4.

Moto E for $180!? WTF!? That's highway robbery. That phone is selling for $50 less online. Maybe you're referring to the Moto G.

In kenedeh the Moto E is 180 bucks.

The S4 does have better camera, and some useful features (ok some of them are useless lol).
Like a few days ago I was doing the dishes, got a call (I had to take it, couldn't afford to call back), said "answer" and it answered on speaker mode.
Very convenient tbh, N5 can't do that

If you want the value-added features like hands-free answering, plus AMOLED, and want to try near-stock Android, why not try the Moto X? It's currently cheaper than the N5 if you buy via Motomaker.

No motomaker in kenedeh
You have to buy from carrier... Lol kenedeh

But yeah Nexus devices are available on Google Kenedeh

If that's the case, yeah, I'd rather get a N5 instead and just look for handsfree answering apps.

But what if your hands are greasy? :D

And anyway even N5 can have a stuck pixel

I'm guessing samsung receives your phone, says one stuck pixel is within spec and ships it right back tbh. 5 weeks is a pretty piss poor repair strategy tbh, unacceptable.

Yeah,it's too long...should be 1 week max tbh

If I trade for a 1 week old, unlocked, N5, is it a good deal

anakha

Trade your S4, you mean? Depends on whether you can live without all the stuff you said you liked about it.

shit you can make apple give you a brand new phone if it takes 2 weeks easily

Well yeah...not gonna happen here

Do you know where you would ship it off to? I imagine Samsung doesn't have any repair depots in CA and that is the main reason for long wait time. Sorry, just curious this shit is my job, repair services for mobile devices.

IDK tbh, but yeah it has to be far to take 5 weeks

Not acceptable tbh

They use a subcontractor in Mississauga, even though you mail to a 'Samsung address' (part of greater Toronto area). That's where my phone went when it wasn't charging properly (due to bent connector I eventually fixed myself). All those idiots did was factory restore my phone and never communicated with me throughout the one week they had it. Their service is piss-poor, a complete contrast from Apple or ASUS.

When I complained harder, they sent me a new charging adapter from Compton, CA. :lol

Hard to say tbh, I forgot you liked Shitwiz, lawl.

I would trade it for an N5 rather than paying that much for an inferior backup phone.

I was going to trade my S4 for a Nexus 5, but when I told the other person there was a tiny red pixel, he said he would call me back, lol

Oh well at least I was honest

Lot of companies contract around Toronto, Apple's Canadian depot is around there too. They mainly just check shit in and it ships from overseas/US. I don't think they trust them to do component level repair tbh :lol
