Chandler Parsons getting his chance now. Injuries happen. It's a part of basketball.

Durant partied too much before the Olympics. He needs to recover from his partying. Either that or he freaked when seeing the Paul George injury.
Couldn't stand the thought of being the leader of the team. He was terrified

If all the stars back out there will be changes in the makeup of the FIBA World Cup. It's been suggested
that the have a 25 year old age cut off.
This is a power move by the NBA to marginalize FIBA to a JV affair.
Beta move copying Kawhi and getting scared off by PG's injury.
Hard not to agree with him when you see other players dropping like flies. Why should you risk injury when playing is not even required other than making your country "proud." Fuck that.

saying he is "physically and mentally drained"
We did that. :hat

Fuck the country. I'd never play FIBA World Cup / Olympics for free if I was a star NBA player. Now if Nike wanted to pay me a fat bonus maybe, but otherwise fuck that.
If he is indeed feeling "physically and mentally drained" then he should've withdrew before training camp even started. Doing it this late just makes him look like a coward. I know seeing what happened to PG changes things but still. I hope Westbrook plays in the WC just to prove that Durant really is a beta.

If coach k is worth all those American Express commercials, he can field a competitive team of college kids and D-Leaguers.

This has more to do with the 330 million he is about to get from Under Armour

why would college stars who havent gotten paid yet even want any part of this? they have even more incentive not to do it than the pros imo.

International play is a huge scam, Team USA uses star players, saps their energy and in some cases their health, and it's the NBA teams that get screwed over.... nobody cares anyway unless the USA loses, so what's the point?

:lol Paul George's leg snapping like a twig has KD terrified
Damn it, was hoping KD tire himself out over the summer.
Some of you professionals should volunteer your summer time doing what you do professionally, for the good of your country.
