There are 29 teams that wish they were the FIVE time Superbowl winning Dallas Cowboys. What team has played in more SB, remember they lost a couple.
So we could laugh at 29 teams less successful.
Every team has some bad times, some never have anything but bad times.
Few teams can match this...
Hall of Fame
Bob Lilly
Roger Staubach
Mel Renfro
Rayfield Wright
Bob Hayes
Tony Dorsett
Troy Aikman
Emmitt Smith
Michael Irvin
now add...
Jason Witten the second leading TE in receptions
Drew Pearson
Herschel Walker
Harvey Martin
Charles Haley
Demarcus Ware
Don Meredith
Tony Will
Jay Novacek
Larry Allen
Once upon a time the Pittsburg Steelers where the worst team in the league, they had 31 years of sub 10 wins seasons in a row. Now no team has won more SB's.

The cowboys have had about 20 years of bad times.
2007 they went 13-3 and lost a playoff game 21-17.
2009 they went 11-5 won a playoff game then lost 34-3
The thing is we can play this with all these teams. In 2008 the Seahawks went 4-12. In 2009 5-11. It's 2010, the Denver Broncos...4-12. It's 2004, the Niners go 2-14.
We have to look at a teams entire body of work not just recent history. The draft is set up for these power teams to come back to the pack, so they do. The price of success.
If we were to compare franchise success the Dallas Cowboys are in the top 3/4. And....they are not one of those way back teams like the Packers/Bears.

I believe they lost them close games because they couldn't run out the clock (Detroit game immediately comes to mind). With the revamped OL, we should be able to run the ball and eat up some clock. Keep our _efense OFF the field! :lol

Romo threw only 10 picks last year. He was hardly the reason we went 8-8. I'd argue we'd have gone 4-12 without him last year.
Outside of the 619 area code - or trolling for LOLZ - not too many fans would rather have Rivers over Romo. What has Rivers ever really done? Give me Romo over Rivers 7/7 times.

not current, but 06-10:
http://www.coldhardfootballfacts.com/content/december-stars-the-truth-about-romo-and-rivers/11472/
So what is it about December? In football, it’s nothing magical. Chances are if you swapped the September and December schedules for the Chargers and Cowboys since 2006, we’re probably having the exact same discussion, just with Romo as the hot December quarterback that erases slow starts, and Rivers as the early-season stud that doesn’t have a winning record in any December.
Overall, Rivers deserves the credit for being more consistent than Romo. They each have a really dominant month, but Rivers at his worst has never had anything like Romo’s December track record.
What Rivers doesn’t deserve extra credit for is the December streaks, because we can see that it’s been a result of the easier part of his schedule consistently coming at that point. Where’s the carry-over effect of playing well in December been? The Chargers entered the playoffs in 2006 on a 10-game winning streak, and then an 11-game winning streak in 2009. They lost the first playoff game at home both times.
This month the Cowboys get Arizona, two games against the Giants, at Tampa Bay, and the Eagles. Romo deserves the criticism if he doesn’t get through this stretch. Right now those teams are 24-31 (.436). What does Romo historically do against such competition? He plays well and wins.
The Chargers get Jacksonville, Buffalo, Baltimore, and then go to Detroit and Oakland. Those teams are 30-25 (.545). At the rate they’ve been going, who doesn’t expect San Diego to have a losing December this year?
We started by comparing these two quarterbacks evenly, and after all the research, we still think they are players of similar caliber in different conferences. One just gets the tougher part of his schedule out of the way early, while the other gets it late.
No matter which month they’re the hottest in, at the end of the season, they both have ended up on the losing side of things in January. What’s so different about the game of football in that month?
It’s all about who you play.
Me likey that Oline

Rivers also went 3-1 in 2011( 4-1 if you include last reg season game on jan. 1st), 3-2 in 2012, and 4-1 in 2013. That 2011 was what the article was talking about when saying he would have a losing december.

The reason he was brought in is superfluous. Weeden is ready to carry this team into the future imo. Romo is done, and I've been one of his biggest stans. It's time to re-evaluate the QB position and Weeden looks ready

He can't throw the deep ball, and his back injury is degenerating, as in - he is not going to get better. It will ultimately affect his mobility, which is what made him special in the first place. That O-line better be good, because Romo is going to be Slowmo. Weeden is a diamond in the rough imo; he's ready to go

Been a Cowboys fan since 1990 growing up during the Triplets rise. I've never been a fairweather fan, I'm stubborn in my ways. I don't care if they are based out of SA or not, the Cowboys are all I've ever known. I don't give a shit if we get a team in SA or not, I wouldn't support them anyway. That would be my avenue to see NFL games, that's it.
Over the past few years I've been more focused on watching the individual players development, and the position battles on gameday. Not much else to be excited for. Whenever Jerry takes a step back and allows true managers to manage, it will be worth it talking shit to all the bandwagon Cowboys supporters who magically appear around town again.

As that already bad Dallas D gets worst it's real obvious Romo will be in a constant catch up mode. Which obviously means pass pass and pass. I do doubt he makes it to turkey day. I also can see a 6-10/7-9 as being very realistic.
Weeden is not the answer as we'll see.

Scout’s Eye: Five Intriguing Matchups Against The Raiders
When the Cowboys take the field Tuesday, they’ll be joined by the Oakland Raiders. Today, I wanted to take a look at some of the matchups I will be observing when the teams hold their joint practices.
Cowboys Center Travis Frederick (http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/roster/travis-frederick/610a7bb2-3d17-4595-80b9-e00324036ab7/) against Raiders Nose Tackles Pat Sims and Justin Ellis.
The Raiders play a 4-3 scheme with their fronts, but they tend to play the nose tackle heavy on the center moreso than in the gap. For Frederick to get work against two heavyweights like Sims and Ellis will be a positive situation. Where Frederick improved the most during his rookie season was dealing with a man on his nose. Both Sims and Ellis not only have the size to control the middle but the quickness to be disruptive as well. This will be a nice test.
Cowboys Wide Receiver Dez Bryant (http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/roster/dez-bryant/e61ca891-9bbe-4449-98b1-d7837f6e4874/) against Raiders Cornerback Carlos Rogers.
One of the crafty veterans in the league, Carlos Rogers is in his ninth season, spending the last three with the 49ers. Over the years, Rogers has been one of the best man-to-man cornerbacks in the league. Even at 33 years old, he still plays with quickness and a burst. He has seen all the routes during his playing days and can quickly adjust to however a receiver tries to attack him. Bryant will physically have to fight him off the line and run his routes tightly in order to buy separation. Rogers will not give him space.
Cowboys Tight End Jason Witten (http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/roster/jason-witten/0597e391-ded8-4e9e-9eaf-51c4b5d5b6d6/) against Raiders Safety Charles Woodson.
When they talk about the all-time greats to ever play this game, the names Jason Witten and Charles Woodson will one day be mentioned. These two have battled before, and, even in the latter stages of their careers, it still is a pleasure to watch. Witten continues to play at a high level and has been outstanding in this camp. Studying Woodson last week against the Vikings, he still has that knack for being around the ball in the running game and when he has to play coverage, he still has those cornerback skills now being used at safety.
Cowboys Defensive Ends Jeremy Mincey (http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/roster/jeremy-mincey/ca5b38a2-73a7-4559-af37-9a40fbfe14c7/) and Martez Wilson (http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/roster/martez-wilson/7623ebe1-0d26-41f8-b5f4-c632499a44f5/) against Raiders Offensive Tackle Donald Penn.
Penn comes to Oakland from Tampa Bay, where he had several solid years of production with the Buccaneers. He is not as athletic as Tyron Smith (http://www.dallascowboys.com/team/roster/tyron-smith/9355eb13-012a-4e9a-ab54-320cce7d65b2/), but he has ever bit of upper body strength and power. He can be difficult to work around when you rush him on the pass. If Mincey or Wilson play without technique and try to take him down the middle, there will be trouble. In the running game, Penn will try to hammer his man off the line. Just from his mass, he can get push. Mincey and Wilson will have to use their hands quickly to shed before he can get going or they will lose that edge.
Cowboys Linebackers against Raiders Running Backs
When taking a peek at the Oakland-Minnesota contest from this past weekend, I was surprised to see how good both Maurice Jones-Drew and Darren McFadden looked in the game. Both running backs looked healthy and were playing with a little jump in their step. There was quickness and a burst with the ball in their hands. Neither played as if they were struggling to get the ball to and through the hole. These Cowboys linebackers are going to have to be quick to rally to the ball, and, when matched up in coverage, be ready to deal with the run after catch. The Raiders scheme-wise want to lean on you by playing with power. They are not afraid to pull and trap to allow these backs to attack you.

Started with a big hit from none other than Mo Claiborne.. who then taunted the Raiders offense. :lol

Ex-Raider McClain gaining momentum, trust with Cowboys
It’s a been a slow process in training camp as McClain — who didn’t play at all last year before signing with the Cowboys in July — has dealt with a couple of injuries.
Coaches and scouts will tell you, however, that the 6-foot-4, 259-pounder has been coming on of late like a freight train roaring down a mountain.
They are tempering their expectations and displaying their excitement in hushed tones, preferring to take it one practice at a time with the former Alabama star, who retired twice in the last year and hasn’t played since 2012.

Claiborne already has a history with injuries and prolonging them. He's been a disappointment, and needs the practice time. It's going to leave the secondary short handed (again) against the Ravens.

I've said it a million times.. Mo is a bonafide autistic, he is not intelligent enough to avoid injury like a Jason Witten would. This is not a matter of bad luck.

This. It's embarrassing that a guy beating up his girlfriend on camera is suspended for only 2 games, and Scandrick gets 4. It's also ridiculous that a "molly" registers as a positive for a PED. If it wasn't a PED he would be on probation and no suspension for the first offense. Doesn't make any sense.

More like a sexual enhancing drug tbh. I agree about the Ray Rice debacle.
Amen brother. LOL Browns fans talking trash their recent history is worse than ours ... We suck. But what type of coward quits on their team during the bad times?
It's not Stockholm syndrome, we're just fans of the team. I'm not a bandwagon fan who's going to leave just because they haven't been successful. I stick with my team through thick and thin.
:lol Happy 4 month anniversary on being a Browns fan.
I guess Id have a bigger attachment to them if I followed them during their glory days in the 90s, but it goes beyond them sucking. Aside from Jerry turning them into a joke I mentioned him moving training camp and openly opposing any team relocating to SA. Why be content with just being a cash cow for him?
I grew up on them too but if you really think about it the guy doesnt deserve the overwhelming support he gets from SA tbh.

Yup, told you. I am not trying to be funny when I say he is retarded. When asked about his Wonderlic score, his response was, "maaaaaaan, ain't nothin' on there bout no football". Half of being a defender is mental; being able to read offensive sets and understand what they are trying to run to get the jump on the ball. He's a fucking idiot.
Vince Young is not a bright guy, but he scored better than a 4 I'm sure.

I've been a fan since '89, so I'm not going to give up now. Who cares where they hold training camp? I don't really care. Sure it was nice to be able to see them practice, but the Cowboys having training camp in Oxnard is fine too. I don't blame them. Beautiful weather in California compared to Texas. Easier to hold outdoor practice too.
