He wants out of Detroit ASAP. Didn't sign an offer sheet out of fear they'd match. It's the only reason he'd turn down a max offer, not that he should be getting one

Agree 100%, 'stanze.
And how can they justify when 2nd tier teams are selling for 2 billion and third world teams like the Bucks for over half a billie?
Players are just as dumb as the GM's.

Is that true though? I think the offers only came from teams that did not have space, and so they needed Detroit to work a sign and trade. Detroit has no obligation to work a trade that brings back crap assets.

In other words, this is Monroe's agent's way of spinning that Monroe's value is more than it really is. There were no true max offers from teams that had space. So Monroe gambled and lost.

And now SVG should barely play the guy since he isn't part of the future. Will be interesting to see how that affects his value further when he is a free agent.

Well, Monroe has a de-facto no-trade clause now. So at least he'd get to go to a teams he wants to play for. Unfortunately, that team would not have his Bird rights. That's going to kill his value.

Is this a joke, i like his game, but he doesn't deserve more than 10 mil/yr

cheers to Monroe for actually doing this. Players love to b*tch about their situation and he's doing something about it.

He probably would. I think the Cavs would rather have him than Varejao if they get Love. Or hell, most contenders in general would like to have him for 9-10 mil. Monroe on the other hand is fuckin useless to a contender.

I think he's on a pretty damn reasonable deal atm. It was front loaded, so he gets 9.25 then after that 8.5 and 8.25 mil.
