Avantes and Gentlemen,

Welcome to Season 2 of $pursTalk Fantasy Football. After last year's successful maiden season, we've opened our wallets and changed some things up. First, we raised the dues to $100 allowing for a larger bank to work with for the prizes. The third-place postseason finisher is no longer awarded 3rd Prize; that now goes to the Regular Season Points Leader. Additionally, the Weekly Points Leader is awarded a $20 bonus prize. We have also had some manager turnover. We lost symple19 and HarlemHeat37, but are happy to welcome spurraider21 and ColinB to the league. Let's get things started. After 13 weeks of head-to-head action, six teams will advance to the postseason for a three round playoff. The top two seeds will be awarded a first round bye. Following the first round, the bracket will be re-seeded so that the top seed plays the lowest remaining seed in the semi-final round. The two semi-final winners will then battle for the Super Bowl championship.

The prizes break down as follows:

Super Bowl Champion 1st Prize: $600
Super Bowl Runner-up 2nd Prize: $240
Regular Season Points Leader 3rd Prize: $100
Single Week Points Leader Bonus Prize: $20 per week for 13 weeks (total $260)

i like it. jennings is currently the starter, but he's a very average NFL talent. he can do a little bit of everything (can catch, run up the gut, pass protect) but he's just not very exceptional. plus the giants are one of the worst spots for a running back, since they're just a horrible team.

montee ball will probably produce because... he sort of has to. any running back will benefit from playing alongside manning and ball is talented. this year there's no veteran like moreno that threatens him. ball will get a shit ton of touches and is a good receiver. their backup is ronnie hillman and i highly doubt they turn to him anytime soon.

garcon is obviously better than randle, but with the giants finally shipping out nicks it shows they really trust in randle. i expect them to be behind in a lot of games, and the giants offense is supposed to be a lot more quick throws, so i'd expect a high reception count for their receivers. Garcon is more talented, but RG3 is somehow already declining, and he will be competing for targets with the newly acquired D-Jax and the emerging Jordan Reed. i dont think the gap between them will be as big as the gap between ball and jennings.

plus the giants seem to love andre williams and i wouldn't be surprised if he vultures goal line carries and eventually becomes a committee

Jennings is a declining WR on a run-heavy team with Matt Cassel as QB and Cordarelle Patterson being the underneath guy to soak up the short targets and Rudolph dominating the middle of the field. I don't trust Cassel to be throwing to Jennings down the field in Norv's vertical scheme.

Decker has a better chance to produce. I have him in my other league on my bench too

In my ESPN league we're experimenting this year and going with ONLY 4 BN spots...we had 9 last few years, and I think the standard is 6-7 iirc. This will add a different dimension to team management and really make you think around the bye week. Already affected the draft too, people were hesitant to take players on the same bye.

Win week 1 with RG3 giving me 8 points (25th out of 30 in QB points that week).

Win week 2 with RG3 giving me 3 points and getting injured. Lose Ryan Mathews to a knee injury as well.

Wake up the next morning to read a report that I have lost Mark Ingram to a broken hand.

So I only have Montee Ball/Pierre Thomas/Joique Bell healthy, with an injured Mathews/Ingram on my bench and no QB because RG3 is out for a while. At least I'm 2-0.

I try trading for a QB, but no takers. Partly because I'm 2-0 and no one wants to help, partly because I"m not willing to get completely pummeled in a trade for a QB since my team is 2-0 with my QB giving me 11 total points.

I take a risk, because it's PPR and I trade Montee Ball for Antonio Brown. This now gives me Calvin Johnson/Jordy Nelson/Antonio Brown/Brandin Cooks/Rueben Randle/Josh Gordon in my PPR league. However, I'm still without a QB and now only have two healthy RB's: Joique Bell/Pierre Thomas.

I have the 5th waiver spot and was going to use it on Cousins. Wake up and the guy with the number one waiver spot (and Foles already on his team) has used it on Cousins to force me to trade. I actually think I ended up pretty well because I was able to nab Khiry Robinson to get another healthy RB on waivers, then I traded Ryan Matthews/Ladarius Green for Cousins/Carlos Hyde.

So I lost Montee Ball and Ryan Matthews, but got Khiry Robinson/Carlos Hyde/Antonio Brown and also ended up with Cousins.

That's my two week journey. 3 big injuries, 2-0 start, 3 trades already.
