Having this debate with my friend recently. Obviously him going to UNC and playing for Carolina for a time might impair my judgement.

For the position he has played, you either get in for your sack numbers or the impact you had on the game. So I think he's just a bit shy on both of those. He has 119 career sacks which isn't too far off other HOF players, but I don't think he made enough of an impact because of the market he played in.

It's close though...I certainly wouldn't have an issue over it if he did make it.

Jason Taylor should get in before Peppers does. Jared Allen is better in my book too. There are probably others slipping my mind. I never thought Peppers was the best at what he did, he was always among the best.

Jared Allen needs 12 more sacks to hit that 140 total. Only six others in that exclusive club.

Apparently Peppers was going to sign with Carolina to end his career here, but at the last minute Green Bay called and offered him a spot as a pass-rushing OLB.
