So being a Laker fan feels like a blind kid playing football who doesn't know what the fuck is going on????

Agreed. But if we whine and bitch about it doesnt that make us the spoiled d-bags other fans paint us as? (not you Venti)
I agree Fredo and Company have something to prove.
We have no idea if Kobe can bounce back.
No legit star to ascend to the throne.
Scott has had some success and some failures as a HC.
But this is a blessing it's time for a "purge". In a few seasons we can say good-bye to the Kobe first Lakers fans.
We should be in good cap shape next year and great shape the year after.
We should be able to find out if Randle is legit.
Lakers should be on a 2-3 year plan, not a short-term sign any star plan.. I did not want Melo or Dwight at the max. I did not even want Kobe at his price either. But since we paid him for services rendered and for box-office ... The fan-base and Kobe need to be patient. Take the jokes and "is it a Clippers town now? bull-shit. It will pass. if the Lakers are not in a great spot in 3 seasons then we should demand sweeping changes for Jimbo, Byron and maybe even Mitch. I have been alive for 10 of the Lakers titles. And really got to enjoy half (8 of the 16) of them, where I knew something about hoops. I'll take almost 30 years of mostly quality hoops for 5 years of shitty ones.

Sht went downhill fast Dr Buss died
started before he died ...
I love Dr. Buss. My favorite owner in all of team sports (I have had to suffer Jerry Jones)
But the fact is the Pringles/Nash experiment was a desperate move by us to appease Buss who did not enjoy the triangle and wanted a team he could "enjoy" in his last days. Everyone blames Jimbo and some Mitch but that is on Dr. buss's feet. ALso Buss had told his kids that he did not want Kobe to leave so "48" could be partially blamed on him to, but the FO could have ignored that ... he was already dead.
RIP Dr. Buss but those that act like he was blameless need to be fair. Besides he left the keys to his kids. And allowed Phil to run out West.

Buss SR and his obsession with "showtime" basketball :lol
It's what he knew.
After 2001 I thought the offense was going stale. It was all Shaq backdowns (and at this point he was fat) and Kobe 1 on 1 (at that point his shot selection got worse) ... the 16-1 playoff run was the last truly "enjoyable" season of the Phil/Shaqobe era great ball movement good defense and so many clutch shots by Fisher and Horry ...pity.
The 2002 team was feuding and running on fumes I know people blame the refs but if Sacto doesnt choke Lakers only get two titles.
Spurs ended us in 2003.
Things were pretty h0rrible despite the hype of 2004 (the Matrix re-loaded bad sequel and bad team). I did enjoy the 2008-2010 run but those teams were nowhere near as good as Showtime or Phil's 1st Laker run.
For Buss Showtime was the best. Cant blame him for that ...
These past 3 seasons have been ugly and it may get worse before it gets better ...but I just want Randle and Clarkson to be something. dont have to be a stud (julius) or a starter (clarkson) If we get a high level starter with all-star potential out of Randle and a legit top 8 rotation player out of Clarkson that is something to build on. The player to build around is not on the roster imho.

Dont want pity or sympathy ... we were arrogant SOB's when we were on top I dont even mind the "hate" ... I enjoy it.
Lakers have to earn back the respect of us loyal fans and the "hate" from opposing fans. The fact you used the word pity is crazy ...and sad ... LOL

Great spot in three years? You niggas traded away your first round pick for 2 of those next 3. Three years is ridiculously optimistic.

LA is in a strange place. First Dr. Buss checking out (rip), bean3rs taking over the city as liberals buttfuck any semblance of success or culture, now Lakers hitting new levels of sadness without Daddy Stern around. Plus you got a drought and the movie industry not looking too good. I'm sure the government will bail out its propaganda industry and the league will try to find more MVPaus to help out, but past few seasons have been interesting and revealing imo.

I always think of Adelman sending CWEBB out there, imploring him not to walk away from Horry. That one, in association with Kobe putting a stop to it up in OR./'00 and Fish admonishing Kobe 17 June 2010 to act like somebody made us & will sustain me on into the dust that is always the end.
5 titles in 15 years ain't bad for the Lakers. In fact, 99% of NBA teams would love to be in your spot right now. Ask a Timberwolves fan and they wouldn't mind being in your shoes right now.

The Lakers & the Spurs have been to the finals 13 out of the 16 years (since 1999). Only 4 other teams rang during that period: Pistons, Heat, Celtics & the Mavs.
The Spurs will also go through a rebuilding period before another franchise player comes along.
