WOJ reported that Monroe signed the QO.

How would Monroe look as a Duncan replacement? He seems like a perfect fit for the 4 on offense 5 on defense model of Duncan and Splitter. He's even a pretty good passer.

Would you want Monroe at the max next offseason?

If he couldn't get the max this season, why would you want him for it next season?

No incentive to trade for him, even if the team did want him.

No shooting and a bad defender means he can't play with either Splitter or Diaw. I wouldn't make a move for him.

He actually cannot be traded this year without his consent, since the year 5 QO is considered a one year contract.

I can see Bledsoe doing this, too. If the owners are going to hold the line on money, they stand to lose a few players.

Not at the max obviously, but he definitely fits the mold of someone the Spurs would target...skilled all-around player with high IQ. If Duncan hangs 'em up, they could do a lot worse.

I'm not a huge fan of Greg Monroe. But if next season is really it for Duncan, the Spurs are going to need to sign an impact big man to take his place. Monroe is one of the few realistic targets the Spurs have in next season's free agent market.

And so far there have been no reports of such from the Spurs.

What? He'll be a unrestricted free agent next summer.
