Richmond Joins Warriors Front Office

September 7, 2004

OAKLAND (AP) -- Mitch Richmond was named a special assistant with the Warriors on Tuesday, reuniting him with former Golden State teammate Chris Mullin in the club's front office.

Richmond will provide assistance in basketball operations, player development and scouting for Mullin, the Warriors' executive vice president of basketball operations, and general manager Rod Higgins.

Richmond, a six-time NBA All-Star, teamed with Mullin and Tim Hardaway in Golden State's beloved Run T.M.C. combo, the league's highest-scoring trio in 1991.

Richmond, the 1989 rookie of the year with Golden State, was the MVP of the 1995 All-Star game with Sacramento. He won a gold medal at the Atlanta Games in 1996, and an NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2002.

His number was retired last season by the Kings. He led Sacramento in scoring in each of his seven years with the club.

All the Warriors need, now, is Timmy Hardaway.

Then, they can market themselves as:

"Run by T.M.C."
