I was curious about this. How do you think Wilt would do if he had the benefit of spacing because of the 3 point line. Most of the centers in the 90's could dominiate because of the 3point line spacing the floor for them, but how would they do without the space to post up? I think Wilt's numbers would be even more rediculous than what they were if he had ray allen or reggie miller spacing the floor for him. What do yall think? Remember, there was no defensive 3 seconds then, so teams could just pack the paint and he was still able to dominate.

He'd still choke at the foul line, and in games, generally

Not sure if it would make a big difference

They used to double team him a lot

He even finished a season 1st in assists in the NBA :lol

The perimeter defense back in the day just wasn't complex enough to be able to double and close out consistently, so having 3 point shooters would definitely have helped.

On the other hand, it really depends on which era of three point shooting you are taking about. The three point shot was incorporated into the nba game in the late 70s but didn't become popular until the Hakeem rockets used it as an integral part of their repeat teams. Three pointing shooting them soared, but much of it was low quality shots though. Until about the Nash suns came in, that is. Ball movement became much more important in busting ever more complex defenses and long athletic defenders, so quick and effective 3 point shooting became so much more integral to help with spacing.

If wilt played in the 80s, it would have helped. If he played in the early 00s, he would have been a monster if he played now, he'd be sears to death.

hard to tell, yes the presence of 3pt line would make it easier for him to score but on the other hand it'd also limit his shots.

He'd try to lead the league in 3 point baskets and tank his team in the process tbh
